Bugger…….but Young has shown it’s gonna be tough for Conway to walk straight back in. Given Latham has one spot and KW is a shoe in it’s gonna be really interesting how the selectors go.
89 in extremely tough circumstances is a really good effort.
Conway can bat anywhere. I wouldn't be opposed to him batting 5 or 6 even. Ponting started at 5 in his career - not for long - but that is where he started
Taylor or Nicholls are the ones who need to be looking over their shoulders.
I can’t see them dropping Taylor but SURELY this is his last season ?
As for Nicholls he’s been going good, still rated 10th in the world ( mind you the overrated Stokes is still 16th so make of that what you will ).
I hear ya. Conway is something special though. He has looked incredibly comfortable in his career thus far. Conway will not be willingly left out of a Black Caps team for a decade.
One of the first names on the sheet when fit

He’s not there yet. Somewhere in the middle at best.
I’d pick our class players with more experience first.

I thought Nicholls would got to four but perhaps he stays at five and Conway goes there ?
That's my prediction. Then to 3 when KW retires.
KW is only a year older so he might not get much time there !!

For me, in the batting department, it's Kane Latham and Conway

I strongly suspect I’ll agree with you in a year or two

Excellent ball by Yadav. Even with Kane’s very compact action, the inseamer got him.

I’m very old school. I remember in the days before the interweb it was pretty hard work to find a guys current batting/bowling average.
It’s all at the touch of a button now but it’s always cool to see it flash up on the screen, this just happened for Rossco and lets be honest, that is a very, very good batting record from one of our stalwarts. A shade under 46 is a quality player in any era. I really hope he ends his career with 20 odd test hundreds though !!!
Disclaimer: I hope I haven’t pulled a @canefan with this post.

@mn5 he never looked comfortable out there and now he got done with one spinning away.

Dreadful shot and an equally bad review by Nicholls. Shane Watson-esque.
harsh - he must have thought he got outside the line

Seeing it live I assumed he had to have edged it, otherwise he was toast.

The review wasn't so bad. Umpires call. I wondered about outside the line.
I notice the commentator said the umpire made a good decision to give him out,
The same commentator would have had to say it was a good decision not to give him out also.
