Until this year, the title seemed such a stretch I've never given it much thought. Finishing above Arsenal on the other hand...

Mickey Mousers are 1-0 up at half time. Please tell me that if they win they knock City out of Champions League next year??? Or will England have 5 teams in the Champions League?

A classic game of two halves. Sturridge robbed Lovren of a goal which would have made it 2-0. Liverpool fans will feel hard done by with some 50/50 hand balls in the box that weren't given but those are the breaks.

Hooroo, I think Man City would still have qualified for the CL. A moot point now.

And in the final death throes of the season ......

Real Madrid take the UCL on penalties after a 1-1 draw with their cross-town rivals. Pretty much 100% different to predicted as Real played on the break after an early goal and Atleti bashed at the door and eventually bagged an equaliser after missing a penalty. In the penalty shoot-out, Juanfran was the only one to miss and Ronaldo got to take his shirt off - he'd been ineffective during the game and looked injured.

Hull are back in the Premier League which is a bit tedious - it means 2/3 of those relegated last season have bounced straight back (Hull & Burnley) and there's a fair chance they will go straight back down again without some investment in talent.

Meanwhile Barnsley achieved the not inconsiderable feat of being bottom after 20 games and getting promoted via the play-offs. They are back in the Championship. The final domestic game is AFC Wimbledon v Plymouth to go up to League One. Which would put Wimbledon in the same division as the franchise MK Dons that originally replaced them.
