50 Years of Star Trek - RIP

i replied before i had read the quote, i watched Enterprise last year, dated more than i would have thought production wise...but, it dd a lot of world building, went into things like shipping and trade routes, which doesn;t sounds exciting but was good at showing not everyone cruised around at warp 10, their were people on multi year cargo routes, or they had ships that just stayed in our solarsystem, one episode had the enterprise being chased back to earth so it could get backup, and these fast heavily armed ships were a big deal...and so how they then went on to an intergalactic war could be very interesting

@kiwiwomble I think in the 1st movie they would use an experimental high warp ship to attack Romulus, and then in the 2nd they would be behind enemy lines with a one year low warp journey back to earth. Odyssey inspired.

Looks like NZ is not getting Discovery for a while
-
@stockcar86 well that’s a way to turn off fans.
Looks like I’ll be using alternative means for Strange New Worlds early next year.
As for Disco, don’t care enough to source that.

Disappointed, I actually really like discovery…not going to get yet another streaming service though

@Kiwiwomble, that is very frustrating.
Like you I have enjoyed the series (for the most part as some episodes have been excruciating to watch at times) and only recently finished Season 3 as I knew that Season 4 was approaching.
Ditto, don't want to get yet another streaming service as I have way, way too many already.
Netflix, Apple+, Disney+, Prime, Stan and now Kayo after recently ditching Foxtel after more than 15 years as a subscriber.

That's the one I have cautious hopes for.
Episodic, exploration stories. They showed Kirk has been cast for season 2 too.
-
@kiwiwomble Looks like a combination of them both. Will see how his acting is, and what stories they tell.
The look is good IMO, good uniforms and ships.

makes me thing, for all their holes and problems.....i did kind of like at least the first two of the Chris Pine movies, enjoyable action rather than..."good"

I like all three, the third might even be the best.
I just wish they would tone down the action and up the smarts. Tell a good story first, and let Star Wars be Star Wars.
