<p>Anyway can happen on the day in 7s, ABs can lose to Argentinia and Blitz can lose to Samoa. With NZ it was due to a high tackle. With Blitz it was due to Kyle Brown knocking on when took a quick penalty when there 3 Samoans down. Samoans scored from the scrum and and then a great try from kick off. What could have been 12-7 to Blitz was suddenly 21-5 against. etc. But that is 7s. Is what we enjoy. </p> -

He will be our most important player going into the Olympics IMO. He has that something special that a playmaker at 7s needs. <br><br>
Our combinations look a little suspect. -
<p>Well the Ioane boys are a real handful, and Kaka (when fit) reminds me of Ngatai - genuine playmaker, inventive, plenty of pace and a clever footballer. Stanaway a good find as well.</p>
<p>But Baker looks kinda washed up to me. Cost us that quarter with the stupid YC.</p> -

<p>What this result shows is that NZ needs their best players available to be any chance at Rio. By my count we were missing at least 5 of our likely12-man squad.</p>

<p>I wish squads could be more than 12. I am trying to pick a Saffer squad. I just think it is a bit unfair. Some 7s players have played their careers for this and will not be picked because of a 15s player who play a few tournaments (e.g. 4 or 5 this year). Habana won't be going, but I don't think Kolbe/de Jongh deserve to go. After London I will give my pick. Still waiting to see who is playing in Roma in June (of the fringe players) to see who really stands a chance. Or should I say I need to eliminate one person. I am following Werner Kok's progress in rehab (he has been back training with the boys) and Frankie Horne. Wouldn't be surprised if both go to Rio. Need forwards. Missed Kwagga Smith today. Just some thoughts. </p> -

<p>Same as TR. When tournaments are played in Europe, esp on a Sunday, it's hard to watch the games. Some people have to get up early on Monday morning to put food on the table and pay the rent.</p>

<p>I'm absolutely thrilled that Samoa won the Paris tournament! Always great to see a new winner, particularly if it's one of our Pacific Island neighbours. France did well, too, at their first home tournament by becoming third.</p>

<p>This tournament - as far as winners & losers are concerned - has been a bit odd. I mean, who would have expected Samoa, France and Argentina in the top 4? </p> -
Good to see sevens has progressed to the point that the top teams will lose if they suffer a YC.

Does anyone know why SBW missed the quater final and play off game again south Africa? Precaution for injury?
