Neesh the early saviour with the ball too. Where's @Chris-B when you need him?
It was a good pitch for someone of Neesh's pace - and Timmy when the ball got older. Harry and The Postman would have been deadly, as well! The quicker bowlers probably got too much bounce.
I'm slightly surprised Neesh didn't get more overs.
I like the variety of our five pronged bowling attack. They're all different - but, Tim and Neesh are a bit the same.
Doull said at the end of the game that our bowling is good enough to win - though a bit weakened by losing Ferg, but he's concerned about the batting and I'd agree with that.
But, it's a question of rolling the dice using Neesh and Co. to bowl OR trusting the top order and that if we need them Santner, Milne and Southee can come to the party with the bat.
Incidentally, I wonder why they list Milne to come in ahead of Southee? There's not much in AM's record to suggest he's more damaging with the bat.

Incidentally - did y'all see the turn that Satnav was getting.
I was amazed at that after watching the replay this morning.
Hopefully Kane gets his batting and coin toss mojo back for the next game. It's still a big advantage to chase on these pitches.

Pretty tough crowd on this thread. We thrashed India, beat Scotland, thashed Namibia and now we are in a position where if we beat Afghanistan we make the semis and are two tin arse performances away from another trophy. That's a great result given T20 is our weakest format (we are 1st in the rankings for tests and ODIs, but 4th for T20s). I honestly didn't think we'd get through the pool with Pakistan who are very strong in T20s and India who are one Kohli or Rohit performance away from smacking you by 100 runs.
Just hope we win the toss and roll Afghanistan cheaply.

Yeah it’s a strange combination of “we’re amazing at tests so should be great at T20s” and “oh it’s the Black Caps, they’ll fuck it up and collapse like they always do”
Team has done fine so far. Former champs the Windies are gone just for comparison.

I'm still struggling to wrap my head around us ranking first not just in ODIs but in bloody tests as well. Madness.

4th ... weak.
We'd have killed for that not so long ago.

Cricket is in NZs DNA, it’s just we’ve finally become really good at it.

It's a weird tournament.
If we win the toss vs the Afghans, we'll likely end up having had a good tournament. If we lose the toss - we're in the gun for a possible choke.
We've had a bit of a struggle to shake the Scots and Namibians off after losing those tosses.
If we make the semis and win the toss vs England, we're a decent chance to make the final. There's barely a game - SL vs WI is the only one, I think - where a competitive team has won batting first.

It’s weird that I’m nervous around this game. If we played them any time in the past 5 years I would know we would thrash them.
I think there’s that long standing nervousness about the Black Caps facing up against a bowler like Rashid Khan. Old habits die hard
