Gilbert back on. Passed his HIA.
He's been the best on the field IMO.

I feel sorry for MP picking up Alosio as he offers nothing and is greedy as anything.

Deserved win to Otago ,made more impressive with some boys that were spotted at the under Super rugby tournament this year

Hmm, that off-the-ball push from the Otago player on Love. I really hate it when players do that. Ref should have reversed the penalty IMO.
Instead it's a penalty goal to Millar.

    Full time: Otago 33 - 28 Wellington

They did make the decision to sign him, though

Just watched the highlights, koroi looked like he was limping for most of the second half, any words on an injury ?

Really impressed with Lio-willie every time I have seen him play. I'd take a punt and get him in the Highlanders environment.

Fabian Holland is an absolutely massive rig, looks like he has a massive future.

The best game I have seen Sam Gilbert play. Looks like he is really hitting his straps. I was a bit dubious about the hype coaches had for him. But, he is looking like quite a talented player. Could be quite a battle between him and CGB for the Highlanders 15 role.

@kiwiwomble IMO Gilbert has been much and much better than Alaimalo. I'd keep him at fullback.

I'd have Gilbert on the wing. CGB should get the first crack at fullback.

I think that Gilbert can still provide plenty of impact from the wing.

Is it an impression or Holland has put a good number of kgs on his frame since the Super Rugby U20 ? His try was really impressive. He is one to watch in the next SR season. I hope he will get enough playing time to gain more experience.

@southernmann i was thinking the other way round, CGB played well on the wing last year and Gilbert has only really started shining at 15

I just really like the way that CGB moves at fullbacks. He just looks to have plenty of vision. He was also a break out star this year and only had his season derailed by injury, so deserves to get first crack again.

I'd probably see those two as interchangeable. Solomon could have first crack on the left wing in place of Nareki.
