I wonder who replaces Faiane in the squad.
I realise Plummer will probably start at 12 but they need more 12 options.
Evans? Tua? Is Toala still signed to the Canes?
I heard MP have signed Toala
Might as well just name them the Magpies and be done with it.
aw c'mon, I want to like MP!

Maybe the Blues could steal Dallas McLeod as well?

@crazy-horse The outside backs would never see the ball. He's like a reincarnation of Adam Whitelock.

Don't get me excited that would be Awesome.

Four key cogs of the Blues rugby machine, with nearly 150 caps between them, have all signed to extend their contracts with the club.
Northland forwards Josh Goodhue and Tom Robinson, Auckland captain Harry Plummer and fellow utility back Stephen Perofeta have re-signed.
Perofeta and Goodhue have extended to 2022 with Robinson and Plummer to 2023 by which time all could chalk up 50 caps for the Blues. -

I watched that on Sky the other day. Very awesome.
Love how he sounds just like a Kiwi kid (which would always happen)

@bovidae Jones is apparently off to the U.S. to play for New York.
Yes, but was that because he wasn't wanted by the Blues (or MP)?
-
@bovidae His development has been slow since leaving school straight into the NZ sevens environment where he hardly got a game. Then with Auckland he has only occasionally made the bench on match days, stuck behind Gibson and Choat. The complete change of environment and living independently should accelerate his development.
-
@daffy-jaffy disappointed he hasn't kicked on, but glad the Blues talent scouting seems to have improved.
It's good - hopefully he steps up an dcomes back super strong

Do you think Segner is a replacement for Gibson or Hunt?
It's not officially confirmed but there was a strong rumour that Choat was signed about the same time it was announced Gibson went to the Hurricanes
So I assume this is a Hunt replacement

He really needed to make an impact in this years NPC to get into a SR squad.
I agree he was likely to be stuck behind Choat/Gibson again.. however covid took away any chance he had of forcing his way up the rankings
A US stint seems like a good move. He needs to play.

It's a great story.
Most of the German's I met when I was over that way were monsters, they could have a great rugby team if it got popular. Reminded me of even more humourless South Africans.
