i have questions
If he was in Melbourne 10 days ago, how has he been "out in the community"
Is the 14 days of hotel quarantine not mandatory? Can you just fly back and say "fuck it"?

All of the below for one case 🙄
**Low risk jurisdictions** * Before travelling to WA, complete a mandatory G2G Pass registration and declaration. * Complete a health screening on arrival. * Scan your G2G Pass and then verify you have suitable premises for self-quarantine. * If you have suitable premises, enter self-quarantine for 14 days. If not, you will be directed to enter a Government-approved quarantine facility at your own expense for 14 days. * You must wear a mask from when you enter WA until you arrive at suitable self-quarantine premises or government approved quarantine facilities. In addition if travelling by air, you must also wear a mask on the flight while in WA airspace, and while inside the airport (with some exceptions – e.g. children under the age of 12 are not required to wear a mask). * Travellers are subject to a COVID-19 test within 48 hours of arrival and on day 12 of quarantine, or at any point when symptoms develop. * A mask must be worn while travelling to and from the COVID Clinic.

Wife mate has a girl in kind, they started back this week. 4 days in and the school is closed again because of 1 case.
Can anyone remind me why we bothered to get vaccinated again?
What?
Holy shit. I might even be glad that I didn’t get my ‘dream’ job in Oz last year.

Nuts hey? If this is "living with Covid" I'm not very impressed
As an aside, we almost booked a ski trip to Japan for Jan, Tokyo for 5 days - then realised that we'd still have to quarantine on arrival - I thought that had been lifted in Japan, clearly not?

No, for some countries you can isolate at home for 10 days, and others 14, but still need to do it

@voodoo does japan have hotel quarantine? someone was saying the other day NZ and Aus were the only ones in the world that did that
You do it at home
Big rule is no public transport
You can actually go shopping for essentials (I believe) but cant use transport

yeah, that's my understanding - it's better than 14 days hotel Q, but it's nowhere good enough to get tourists (inc us) there

I'd do 14 days at Tomamu.

So no difference really 😉

Comparing health directives across the various jurisdictions in Australia just highlights that very little of this is science based.
Two examples:
-
ACT finally comes out of lockdown but stores were still only "click and collect". Across the border stores were open in an area with fewer vaccinated people. So where did everyone go..?
-
Over 80% if the ACT is double dosed, but you currently still need to wear a mask outside.

Sadly, I’m not sure you’re meant to spend the days on the slopes, but I cant think of a good reason why not.
I’m planning to go get a lesson for my boy from @MiketheSnow but it might have to wait a year.
Nb: I know you do serious back-country shit but I have to sell the trip to my wife so farm the boy to someone else and we’ll drink beer

Unfortunately lifts will come under ‘public transport’ methinks 😫
Early 2022 for the Brits if we’re very lucky, but with the knee jerk reactions to our case numbers I fear it will be the 2022/23 season for me.
Sounds good

Gotta say the way WA is avoiding everyone and everyone (including international Qantas) is avoiding WA, it looks less and less like the Hermit Kingdom and more and more like the Leper Colony...
