Admissions to hospital in New South Wales have dipped to the lowest they have been in two months as the state records 273 COVID-19 cases and four deaths
Jeez, might just be something in this vaccination thingee
simple, once you're injected, they control your brain, and stop you socialising ... so therefore Covid can't transmit. Wake up sheeple!

and yet, no matter what state you reside in, if you are a Labor or Greens "supporter" you will still shout how reckless the NSW Government is being. What a rogue state

As we've all said before, trumpeting of infection numbers isn't as valuable in the post vaxx era. Hospitalisations are key and yet when I switch on the telly or read stuff the first thing is always new cases....
-
@canefan whilst i think you're ultimately right, i have to say seeing the case numbers in NSW drop so dramatically whilst vax rates go up is reassuring and is, if only in an overly simplistic way, good evidence the vax works in some way at least

@mariner4life no swipe at the “irresponsible” Victorian government by the Qld Deputy Premier, and yet their performance managing Delta and the Victorian community has been nothing short of diabolical.
The amount of backslapping in that press conference yesterday by the Qld Government was embarrassing.

You'd be forgiven for asking why the ACT has the restrictions it does.
Yay. We'll beat the NT.

WA won't open to fully vaccinated people from NSW and VIC this year.
And for those who think domestic vaccine passports are a good idea; NSW finds a 84 year old retired doctor who has handed out ~700 vaccine exemptions without proper consultation.

I can't believe the people of WA are standing for this, surely there is a large cohort that have families in NSW/VIC that want to see them for Xmas? Amazing they are tolerating being locked into their state for so long.
And that DR had better be seeing more than just some minor sanctions - I see the police have "handed him over" to health authorities though, so probably not.

mate, they wheel themselves out for a daily press conference to say "zero cases" it's absolutely ridiculous
It's like our daily propaganda broadcast. Fuck off woman and only speak when you have something to say. This is effectively a loooooong political campaign with no election in sight

@antipodean i just saw ACT >95% first dose and basically 83% double dose. Why in the fuck is the entire joint not open?
There are some dumb motherfucking rules coming out in the Qld backpatathon. So, if you only let vaccinated people in to your establishment, you operate under different restrictions than if you just let anyone in is one fucking stupendous piece of policy writing.
And the roadmap to opening is looking a fair way off as the Qld vaccine rollout actually slows, not speeds up.

Fuck knows. Not happy about it either.

Awesome
i have questions
If he was in Melbourne 10 days ago, how has he been "out in the community"
Is the 14 days of hotel quarantine not mandatory? Can you just fly back and say "fuck it"?

All of the below for one case 🙄
**Low risk jurisdictions** * Before travelling to WA, complete a mandatory G2G Pass registration and declaration. * Complete a health screening on arrival. * Scan your G2G Pass and then verify you have suitable premises for self-quarantine. * If you have suitable premises, enter self-quarantine for 14 days. If not, you will be directed to enter a Government-approved quarantine facility at your own expense for 14 days. * You must wear a mask from when you enter WA until you arrive at suitable self-quarantine premises or government approved quarantine facilities. In addition if travelling by air, you must also wear a mask on the flight while in WA airspace, and while inside the airport (with some exceptions – e.g. children under the age of 12 are not required to wear a mask). * Travellers are subject to a COVID-19 test within 48 hours of arrival and on day 12 of quarantine, or at any point when symptoms develop. * A mask must be worn while travelling to and from the COVID Clinic.

Wife mate has a girl in kind, they started back this week. 4 days in and the school is closed again because of 1 case.
Can anyone remind me why we bothered to get vaccinated again?
What?
Holy shit. I might even be glad that I didn’t get my ‘dream’ job in Oz last year.
