I'm surprised there is no mention of today's game. West Ham beats Man Utd to help Man City's chances of playing in the CL next year. :)

BUT, the big news is that the Hammer's winning goal was scored by Winston Reid, who has the honour of scoring the last ever goal at Upton Park.

Leaves Man U with a chance of 4th but if results go a certain way, they could finish as low as 8th. Given Sunderland could end the relegation battle tomorrow morning, it could be the only excitement of final day.

Meanwhile Burnley and Middlesborough into the Premier League, Burnley doing the bounce again and Middlesborough after lurking around promotion for a few seasons. Brighton v Sheff Wednesday and Hull v Derby in the play-offs, current form suggests it will be a Brighton v Hull final.

and there goes the interest of the final day. Relegation confirmed for Norwich and Newcastle, with Sunderland surviving. Fuck. I wanted Rafa to pull it off, and Fat Sam to get relegated.

The last day pretty much becomes a celebration, as i think only City and Man U have anything to play for.

No, thats not true. There is everything to play for. If Chelsea beat Leicester, then it will prove that they are the better team, and in reality were the real winners.

If that doesn't work, then John Terry will throw Vardy's shoe over the Harding stand to prove it.

If Arsenal lose to Villa and City win then Arsenal come fourth and could lose out to the scousers if they win Europa!

Also if Arsenal win and Spurs lose, we come second and all ir right within the Arsenal World

I don't like John Terry, i think he's a fluffybunny. But even i think it's a bit sad that an absolute club legend like Terry finishes his career with the club he absolutely loves by being sent off and missing the last game.

Exactly! As another long-suffering Arsenal fan we can console ourselves with the fact that Arsenal did beat Leicester City - twice (they've only lost 3 times to date).

Arsenal fans can only dream. Wenger's got at least 10 years left of keeping Arsenal relatively mediocre before the club seems to cotton on to the fact he's not a trophy winner.

and I'll take that. Mediocre is a touch rough. I call a Prem team that doesn't make Top four every year mediocre.

Time for Wenger to go I reckon. But he's not going to jump and the board won't make the big call.

The key word was relatively. Arsenal seem to have long forgotten that they should be a title winning team, not a top 4 team.

The FA cup double has been good, no doubt, but it's been a LONG time since that was genuinely considered a tier 1 trophy (which is sad, in itself).

you are in a mini-league with 3 other teams. In that mini-league, your trophy haul is very small.

Since your last premier league (12 years), there are those 2 FA cups. Well done on those by the way.

In that time:
Chelsea = 4 titles, 4 FA cups, 3 League cups, a Champions League and a Europa League

Man U = 5 titles, 2 league cups and a champs league

City = 2 titles, 1 FA cup, and 2 league cups.

And to show how far you have fallen, Liverpool have an FA cup, a League Cup, a champs league, and we have the final of the Europa coming up. And we've been a bit of a basket case over that time (ok the last 30 years)

Arsenal are a financially strong club with great revenue streams and a big name who seem to decided coming in the top 4 every year is a trophy in itself. Even this year, with just a little ambition in January, they could have had a real crack at the Premier League. Instead they did nothing, and came no where.

I'm not argueing that.

I just remember that when they built Emirates, they had a target of Champs league every year for a decade to be able to afford the stadium. They have acheived that and I imagine this will be one of Wengers last seasons or maybe next season.

I'm happy enough as my expectation has been low
