@tim and another woman got through the Northern borders by hiding in the boot of a car, but was dobbed in by someone in or known to her family in Kaitaia.
That is both good and bad...bad that someone has to breach court imposed restrictions to see whanau, good that some people are still honest and don't like lawbreakers.
-
Are they still trying to put people in quarantine when they test positive? The cats well and truly out of the bag now, the government can't do L4 again because most people won't follow it anyway. We're just going to have to ride this out - something we should have been doing about 6 months ago if it wasn't for the governments botched vaccine rollout.
-
@no-quarter not sure what qualifies them, but some are allowed to self isolate, then abscond and then get put into MIQ....
I see NZ has hit 83% of eligible have had at least 1 dose...yet Michael Baker saying we still need close to 100%...
I'm thought we'd struggle to get to 80% so that is impressive, who know what we will get to...but 100%...
-
@taniwharugby If we were to get to 100% Baker would want 100% with a booster before a staged opening up to Level 2.5.
I don't have any issu4es per se with his pov as long as the government realise he is talking strictly from a perspective of doing anything to achieve zero deaths and are balancing that with other input regarding the impact on peoples lives; financially mentally etc.
Some of the other social media darling experts though are obviously just attention seeking media whores

You fuckers all better get jabbed. I'm practically dead already 81/100!!!
I think I'll go and have a lie down.
What the fuck is all this nonsense?

In more shocking 'Ministry of Health are incompetent' news I heard this morning that the new Covid Card website has security issues that it took an IT expert 5 minutes to uncover and it has been rated D for security....
Somewhere Sam Morgan is shaking his head

@mikethesnow Its some UK based Covid risk analysis. based on population data for UK.

From the article:
The source said the women did not resist their arrest but have since refused to provide any details about their movements since leaving Auckland and who they have had contact with.
Hopefully they don't actually have Covid.

We were lucky that first wave in 2020 was amongst those who were compliant, as they quarantine at home. Now it's amongst lower socio economic groups and gangs, is spreading quickly. Poor compliance, and poor living conditions, too. Sadly it will be their whanau that suffer and die, with high levels of co morbidities, and low vaccination rates
