@nzzp It was a good week for rookie QBs.
Cowboys and Cardinals look like two NFC teams that will make the playoffs are missing out last year - both continue to impress.
Raiders - Chargers tomorrow in LA should be fun - given the history of the Raiders in LA expect a heavy Raiders presence in the new stadium

Well Russell Wilson's streak of consecutive starts ends at 149. Out for 4 to 8 weeks with a ruptured tendon in. His hand.
He's a super tough guy so normally you'd think he'd be on the shorter side of that projection but it's his throwing hand so if he has issues gripping the ball might need the full recovery time.
The Seahawks look like they're in trouble. Their offence is basically built on Wilson making off schedule plays and their defence has had an awful start to the season. They're in the toughest division in football and there's a real link that in 8 weeks time they're out of the prayaff race, and then have to decide whether to start him in meaningless games.
Their schedule is at least relatively friendly for the next few weeks, with an underperforming Steelers, the Jags making a strong push for being the worst team in football and a bye. If Wilson does make it back in four weeks they might have only lost one game in his absence.
The Jamal Adams trade probably has to go down as one of the worst trades in recent memory. Not only did they give up two firsts, but they gave him 75m and he was brutally exposed in coverage. Be interesting to see if they try to get him blitzing more to hide him in coverage. If Wilson is out for 8 weeks and their season tanks so they have to give up a top ten pick that will just be the icing on the cake.

TNF was actually not bad - with a couple of decent teams.
That said, Seattle could now be a dumpster fire with RW out. Geno Smith wasn't bad, but no one is going to extend a play like Russ.
Seems like lots of decent teams playing at the moment. Very few terrible teams as well... even the Browns aren't too bad!

So much for a 10 year deal. Jon Gruden resigns as raiders coach. Honestly I think he has used the latest media coverage of some incredibly tasteless but not particular severe comments to get out of dodge because that raiders team isn't going anywhere near a Superbowl any time soon.

Even the Bengals are in the black.

Both Seattle and the niners are sagging badly due to injuries

@canefan just watched Chargers Browns. Wow, what a game. Browns have come from an absolutel train wreck to a decent football team. Herbert is some player. Mayfield deserves a lot of credit for getting in and turning around that dumpster fire.
Good fun league this year

It's wide open this season, lots of teams who could get hot and win it all

It's about time those early 1st round picks added up. Their defence and 1-2 punch RB's are carrying Mayfield.
I actually believe Mayfield is holding them back. Run the ball on 3rd and 10? Goes to show what the Browns think of Mayfield. Mayfield lacks the clutch gene. -

The sense is that if he didn't resign there were more emails that were going to be released......
-
huge investigation in to the internal culture of WFT, including some really ordinary shit
And it's Gruden's that get released?
hmmmm
You don't send emails like that unless the guys you are writing to feel the same
Seriously Jon, your views are dumb anyway, but to do it on a work email?

^^^ This. Who goes into writing with that sort of stuff?

After a 3-0 start to the season (because they played the worst 3 teams in the comp) the Broncos have gone 0-3 in their last 3, and it's been ugly.
And, if social media is any indication, the fan base is pissed. Pissed at the front office, pissed at the coach, pissed at the moves made, especially at QB
And justifiably so.
Yes, it's a tough division, but the Broncos are pretty fucking average. And going nowhere with a plan based around "just do enough" thinking that doesn't build anything, nor fall back far enough to get really high picks. Shit, sort of like the Spurs...
Another weird weekend
Ravens smoked the Chargers, which i doubt anyone saw coming
The Jags won a game! And Miami suck (that division man, it's always 1 good team and 3 dumpster fires)
Panthers are falling back to the pack
Patriots managed to take the Cowboys to OT (Trevon Diggs has 6 interceptions in 5 games) -
sorry, my info was a week out of date, Diggs has 7 picks in 6 games.
that's insane
The record for most in a season is 14. He has 11 games to get 8
-
Derrick Henry is really big and really fast.

35 km /h, and 108 km/h. Ridiculous. Forget trying to tackle him.
thing is, he has a side step to go with it. He's insane.

Fun game, Jones could be a pretty good QB. Receivers weren't great, and the defence was terrible, but he played pretty well. Belichek always does this - pulls a bunch of no-names, and builds them into some sort of decent defence by the end of the year. Could be one loss too many so far though.
There are very few dud teams, adn a whole lot of good games out there. This has been one of the best seasons I can remember so far.
Loving Aaron Rodgers trash talking the fans - don't taunt the players, taunt the fanbase!

Imagine him at 12?
