Well, more seriously, probably better than I expected.
I thought we might be lacking Tu'ungafasi, Segner, and Nankivell for a start.
Nankivell will be a bit underdone, but I think he's particularly important.
Personally, I probably would have played Stupid Shannon at 6, Renton at 8, Big Leicester at 13 and Ware at 11 - but, hopefully they know what they are doing. Overall, it's close to the best 23 we can field this week, but - Jesus Christ - on the books we supposedly have Will Jordan, David Havili and Tom Marshall - and yet we're fielding Willy Havili at fullback?!

@Tim Always read the fine print.
There was a split second where I wondered how the Mako$ had jammed a rapid MIQ trial...
They were too busy for that as all there jamming efforts are aimed at getting Jono Bredin appointed to referee the match.

@stockcar86 He had a game last week so hopefully he will be rested/droppped this weekend.

@number-10 So we're two weeks later and again Flanders is covering lock because we have no healthy and good third lock. I guess Elijah Martin doesn't fall into either category, so why is he even in the squad if our best number 8 is also our best reserve lock? And McClutchie again covering 9, because we still have no 2nd halfback. In the mean time, Ta$man has just added a few All Blacks 7s players to their squad. Why don't we have some good, new additions?
-
@number-10 Don't know about lock - I guess Boswell-Wakefield has been seen enough during club rugby that they don't consider him good enough anymore; my new player comment was more about halfback. I wonder why they haven't gone after Kahn Fotuali'i. Yes, he's old, but he still played premiers club rugby, this year. Must be better than no halfback at all. I also wonder whether Ngarohi McGarvey-Black can play halfback, considering he's a playmaker in sevens. He now plays for Ngati Porou East Coast.
-
@bovidae They're starting with a very big team.
Basically four locks (if you count Frizell, who Foster recently counted as lock cover) and three props (counting Aumua!).
Makalio is a big hooker, Segner is more a 6 than a 7, and Big Leicester on a wing.
Didn't really work against Waikato, which is why I think Nankivell is such an important addition - providing a bit more speed - and a bit more mobility to come off the bench in the second half.
A leaf out of Hansen's book in vs England? What could possibly go wrong!
