I suppose the Waikato team may be able to go back to their families over the weekend (if approved) as they will be in L3 regardless.
KC training is in Mangakino tonight, which is closer to Taupo than Te Kuiti.
Judging by the description (map not yet published, Mangakino might be in the new zone.
Hipkins said the boundary will follow the coast south to Mōkau and then east along the northern Pureora Forest Park, and then north to include Te Awamutu, Karāpiro and Cambridge where it will meet the existing boundary.”
Mangakino is part of the Taupo District and is not within the restricted area.

All players vaccinated, all agreed to regular testing, would have been in a bubble.
More world leading Covid control by nz.

Yet The Bus was allowed out, and some netballers, and waikato ladies got to run from 2 different Level 3 areas.
Inconsistent
-
For the netballers, only 4 players were allowed to leave, but not any of the Auckland-based support staff. That included the team manager and physio amongst others.
The MoH should be consistent though.
Where were the teams going to be based in their latest proposal? Was it still at Wairakei?
-
According to 1 news they had a full plan to work to that was submitted as well, given all involved double vaxxed, bit of a shit decison really, especially with the upcoming drive to allow vaxxed people to do more stuff 🙄

We're paying people wages and they can't play. We can't generate revenue. All the gaming venues which we rely on for a lot of our community game are trying hard to help but their venues are shut. Sponsors are very loyal but they don't do it for no return either, so that's another difficult part to manage.
so wages are a sunk cost, players don't generate revenue. NPC crowds don't cover fark all. Sponsors have already paid up...
.. the one nugget there - a LOT of the income comes from.. pokies. "gaming venues".
Ciggie sponsorship got shut down years ago - this is so much worse. -

No it was a genuine question, I hadn't seen the article. Thought you had some oil

Heard earlier the Northland squad was making plans to leave whangarei tonight to ensure they can keep playing in the npc.

So weird that Level 3 you should be at home but all these sports teams are just legging it. Kinda defeats the purpose IMO
-
@machpants well given the virus potentially been active here for a week...but fuck it, they got till 2359, I say good on them...
L3 is work from home if you can?...backyard footy?
enough on that topic here from me.
-
@taniwharugby OK. I hadn't heard that. So everyone is in the BOP, including the Black Ferns.
Waikato is meant to be playing Taranaki at home.
