While it doesn't say so, the tone of that says you can never go to watch rugby with your mates again...cos you can't do it at L2, but could at L1, but L1 freedoms are gone

I thought it clearly stated the L1 might contain 3 things it didn't previously. Mask use in public spaces, Vax certificates for large events and compulsory tracing.
Not sure how you read not being able to watch rugby with your mates into that.

Ashley Bloomfield: Level one freedoms a thing of the past.
One thing I could do at L1 I can't at L2 is watch live rugby with my mate, he said L1 freedoms are a thing of the past...so if you re read what I said, I didn't say it said that I wouldn't be able to do that, but....why not just say we will have a L1.5 indefinitely

A little tip when reading Stuff….
The headline often doesn’t match what the article describes.I think your rugby example would come under having some kind of vaccine passport to attend large gatherings (Northland included)

The same people who gave the mongrel mob $2.5 million of their drug money back let a gang member self isolate at home and in a shock move ignored the rules . We were only allowed one person in the room at a time when mum was in the hospice at level 2 but this is fine .
Oh and the headhunters had a mass gathering in Auckland, my old mans mates couldn’t come to his funeral and are still waiting for a memorial service for him if and when we ever get to level 1 but this is fine too .
Is there any reason Labour are so soft on gangs ? They contribute nothing are a blight on their communities and are ignoring the covid rules the rest of us have to live with whether we like it or not .

Got to love a nice depressing read on a Friday
The rest of world talks about getting back to 100% freedoms, or already being there and living with it.
Equivalent NZ health secretary says freedom is a thing of the past.
Up to you guys I suppose, least your house prices will probably go up again .. woo hoo.

@crucial I read it, maybe you need to read what I said, again?
I havent said they said that, but given we supposedly lose L1 freedoms, you could easily lose that too, not a long bow to draw to think they will once again move the goal posts - L1.5...oh wait, they dont have any to move, we dont need any

You were right , I read it .
National released a plan . Labour and their online shills-like Clint Smith And Neale Jones have spent the week deriding it and next week the government will adopt most of it as they have been doing recently with most National ideas.
We are now 39th on Bloomberg’s covid response, along way from when Arden and co were getting high off the international praise for the incredible feat of isolating one of the most isolated countries on the planet .Australia have announced they are lifting all travel restrictions next month while our largest city is sealed off from the rest of the country. We will be one of the last to open up and hopefully before the next election we get a chance to look at the real toll this has taken with delayed surgeries and screenings , mental health and suicides. I guarantee it’s going to be ugly reading .
I’n the meantime if Clark Gayford could shut the fuck up that would be great ,

Switzerland has set targets for exiting restrictions
Over 65: 90 to 95 % vaccination
18 to 65: 80 % vaccinationCmon nz, be brave and set some concrete tangible goals

Not sure Australia is a good example to use. Lifting travel restrictions just means Aussies don't have to 'apply' to leave the country. The states are still doing their own thing. It can be argued Qld isn't even letting it's own citizens back in at the moment.

I see Brian and his Density Church muppets were out protesting in Auckland today...

I wonder if this time there are more people protesting lockdown, or are we all in an echo chamber here?

they said 2,000. I think they're wrong, but you can't easily remove the right to protest from people.
Anecdotally, people are over this lockdown. My mum reports elderly friends are fed up with it ... can't see it staying much longer politically

That's the feeling I get too. That's why I think we will be in L2* next week. Cindy doesn't like to make unpopular decisions
