Yellowstone does take a little while to develop the characters and to understand the family and political dynamics.
I am working my way through the Marvel shows on Netflix, which I never watched at the time. I probably should have watched them in order but it hasn't worked out that way.

Thought they were all on Disney?

They will all eventually end up there once Netflix's contract ends. I am referring to Daredevil, Jessica Jones, Luke Cage, Iron Fist and The Defenders.

I see. Thought you meant other MCU shows.
How are you finding them. JJ was the best IMO alongside season 1 of DD. LC dragged the story out too long but was OK. IF the weakest although the beginnings were OK when you thought the character was meant to be an annoying dick.

@nepia it's SOA in Yellowstone!
Yeah, I think going in I thought it was a drama about ranchers, not a a slightly racist drama about mobsters who just happen to be ranchers.
Plus I can't stand that redhead chick.

I am finishing up Jessica Jones now but enjoyed Daredevil more across the 3 seasons. I actually watched Iron Fist first (Jessica Henwick piqued my interest ), hence my comment about not watching them in order to understand some references to previous time periods. That and Luke Cage are definitely a step down. The Defenders will be last.

I've watched JJ S1, DD S1, and Luke Cage and was hugely disappointed considering the hype. JJ was easily the best, DD the most overrated and Cage was kind of just ok. I haven't felt the need to watch anymore.
Hmm, my posts today make me seem like a negative nelly, but I've been watching lots of good shows lately.

I thought the Beard Ep was about the worst piece of TV I have ever seen. So boring, so out of place. Xmas Ep right behind it. Just terrible.
Agree re Nate
:::
I'm just getting bored of it as it appears they wrote a season and then got extended, so now they're delving further into the characters to fill it out.

Yeah. I wrote a post earlier that I had to delete as the spoiler thing got in a tangle.
Agree that there are too many add on storylines to characters. I get that the premise of the show is that not everyone is how they appear but characters like Beard were great just being a mystery. We don't need even more angles to Jamie. Leave him as the dickhead on a path to redemption. Although Keeley is a popular character we don't need another mess to come her way for her to show things.
In other words keep to the core. -

They wrote a season, then Apple demanded 2 more episodes be "injected somewhere". So given they couldn't mess with the structure in any meaningful way, they padded the series out with 2 x fillers. And whether you love them or hate them (and it's clear where I stand!), they are immediately recognisable.
The show was great when it was simple, just a feel good show about the players and the team. A mate's wide described it as a kids show for adults - that was enough for me.

I don't find her hot at all so she's just way along the horizontal axis for me. I almost find her scenes unwatchable.
I'm giving it until the end of S1, now that I'm watching it like SOA and not the serious drama it looks like on ads etc, and will see if I keep going after that.

@majorrage i think I bailed after the goat episode?

I’ve taken one for the team here. Just don’t.
First few episodes quite fascinating, Kidman excellent. Then it all just goes to shit. Terrible series.
Other half has suggested that. I’ll show her your review and that should change her mind, cheers pal
I want to watch the Squid one where the Asians get killed brutally instead.

I have watched the first 4 or 5 of these. Liked the premise. Interesting cast. Lots of mysterious dialogue that makes you think something really fucking mind blowing is going to happen....really soon.....
But it just doesn't
