Because he's been shit since he was playing midfield with SBW. His form fell off a cliff, then he got hurt, and he's done fuck all since. He's pretty far from a secured selection these days.

You have always such a shit way of commenting on players. Horrell is far from shit; just plagued by injuries the last two seasons and probably his versatility hasn't done him any favours.
-

You would prefer a worse player because you don't like the girth of a player?

Ben T has always been a good team man and his fatness didn't effect other players so it seems silly to want a guy who can't prop and does nothing around the field to be there instead of him.

As for Horrell, he's been nowhere near as shit as M4L is making out, but he's definitely yesterdays man - good to have in the squad but I doubt he'll be thrown in at finals time like a few years ago.
-

Girth? no! Attitude, Yes!

Apparently from the stories coming from the camp (and published on here, WTW can repost them) he was far from a good team man.
-

Horrell was surprisingly excellent in the midfield for those couple of years, but he's been ordinary since then. I don't care if it's because he's been injured, or slipped back from his peak form, the point is it's not anywhere near a surprise he isn't an automatic selection for any game, let alone one of this magnitude.

Ben T was a rock in the scrum, provided a decent level of mongrel (and got right up the crusaders' nose), and was surprisingly good around the track. My only beef with him was the number of really dumb penalties he gave away every game. Right now, i could live with those penalties considering our current tighthead offers neither scrummaging nor anything in open play.
-

Nah, fuck that. If Ben T were still around, he'd be our first choice tighthead with Laulala out and we'd have to put up with his stupid shit all season. Yamashita may not be up to it but he wouldn't even be in the squad if Laulala hadn't gone down and wouldn't be in the 23 if Moli hadn't gone down too. I'd rather have an inept player around for a handful of games a season than a complete liability like Ben T around for the full season.

Sad thing is I liked Ben T for his first couple of seasons but by the end, I couldn't wait to see him fuck off. The two biggest games he played last year, the Highlanders quarter and the Ranfurly Shield game, he was fucking shit, continually flopping over rucks and handing the opposition easy three points.
-

yea, you Waikato guys got it way worse, he seemed to ramp the stupid up when he played in that god awful jersey.

It's probably jealousy on my part but I don't care. It was just frustrating to watch such a awful waste of talent.

I have no doubt that if he had the mind to compliment his skill set and power, he would have been starting tighthead for the AB's
-

That Shield match was a classic Ben T. A YC for a no arms tackle with a couple of minutes remaining with the Magpies coming home with a wet sail. I guess for entertainment value Ben T is missed because we don't get Hooroo's reactions anymore
-

The Chiefs are set to be cheered on by their biggest crowd in three years in their blockbuster Super Rugby clash with the Highlanders in Hamilton on Saturday night. By lunchtime on Friday 19,500 tickets had been sold to the round 11, 7.35pm match at FMG Stadium Waikato, leaving around 5,500 before the sold out signs go up. With the weather forecast for Saturday looking positive, the franchise is anticipating a decent walk-up crowd, which will make it the Chiefs' biggest turnout since the 2013 final.

Last year's match against the Crusaders on February 28 – the same day the Black Caps beat Australia in the thrilling Cricket World Cup game at Eden Park – attracted 18,100 and was the best crowd since the franchise's second title win, before this year's Friday night match against the Blues on April 8 saw a tick under 21,000 pack in.

And now he gets to hang out in Paris with cool Danny Boy! :)
-

It's in the bag for the Highlanders.

I know this with certainty, as I just placed a bet on the Chiefs to win and considering my utter lack of success with multis and rugby betting in general for the last few weeks... that must mean the Chiefs are going dooooown

Really looking forward to this game. Chiefs are deserved favorites. Clan really need to get a win one over either Chiefs or Saders, and that is looking like a decidedly difficult mission.

Feketoa Vs Ngatai is going be good watching, just hope they don't go and injure each other.

Faddes at center is a concern for me and I am picking he will get a lot of runners in his channel to test his defense.

Hope this game lives up to expectations.
