few retirements at Tiger town
Bachar Houli finishing this week as well
Was he the bloke plucked out of the VFL to debut in a GF and almost won best on ground?

No that was Marlon Pickett.
Houli started his career with the Bombers and was in and out of the side (more out than in) for a couple of seasons. Then the Tigers picked him up through the draft.

strong rumour Stuart Dew is gooorrrn on Monday

i think this is pretty cool, looking at the table as it stands currenlty
eagles, richmond, collingwood and adelaide have all played in grand finals in the last two or three years...and are all currently out of the payoff spots, obviously shit for thse fans but its cool how much things can change from one season to another, fans can hoestly believe "this year might be our year" every season

buddy's kicked 5 and hes only 9 off 1000

Eddie Betts to retire after this weekend's game
Would have to be one of the very few universally loved players in the comp. Absolute genius around the goals. Kicks a contender for goal of the year every few weeks. Incredible role model
Will be missed.
Am really only a casual fan of AFL and only watch the Crows (who?) when in contention (So not for few years ...), don't know tactics or structure only what works out good or bad.
But I think anyone who enjoys sport of any type would love what Eddie brings/brought. He just does freakish shit all.da.time!
Loved what he did in yellow/red/blue.
A highlights tape of Eddie would get you interested in the game.

Dees getting found out a bit by the Cats right now. Exposed on the outside. Cats goal kicking has been top drawer
-
Here come the Dees
-
Dees are killing it. Last 10 minutes possessions are 38-9 to the Dees.
Max in the middle dominating.
-
Maaaaaaaaaaxxxxxxxxxyyyyyyyyyyyy

Came back from the dead and finish top of the ladder. Brilliant.
Go Dees
-
Sky didn't show the Dees game. I was at them all week. So now I've missed the best game of the season to date. When I last checked the score we were down by 30, which I now read got out to 44, so this was an epic, epic comeback. What an incredible test of our mettle and a fantastic boost heading into finals week 1. Bring on the Lions.
-
Great to get a solid win over the Crows on Sunday. I think our first loss this season was against them, and they were a banana skin this time also. Hope the Geelong game is on the box!
You're proud of this?
Yep. I was at the MCG in 2002 when we lost to them in the finals, so I'll take any and every win over Adelaide.

Three? premierships for Bachar, have to pretty pleased with that on the CV

Not sure if this should go in sports memes…coronavirus memes…or here
@booboo the crowd made the grand final in 2017 so it hasn’t been a huge dry spell
-
@shark Dees will be my team for the finals given Saints have stunk the house out this year.
Have a soft spot for the Dees, I was in their catchment area during the old VFL days and their players would come to our school to run clinics. Got to meet Jim Stynes, Todd Viney, Sean White, Brian Wilson
I even got to wear the famous number 2 playing little league for the Dees.
-
While the Dees were awesome last night just get the feeling that September will be tough for them. Port looking like the real deal at the moment
I hope you're quite wrong, of course.
But also, every time we've lost this year I've seen various media say the Dees aren't contenders. And if you go back in this thread you'll see it at times as well. At one stage we weren't in people's top three contenders even. But then we've come back, and some of the wins have been quite impressive. And ultimately we played the way we did last night, not in beating an also-ran but in beating Geelong. After being down by 44. On two occasions. 9 goals in a row we conceded. How many teams will come back from that? Fuck all. So I think this year, this group, with 2018 also fresh in some key guy's memories, we might just be the real deal.
