Yep , but this is a thread about how crap stuff is so it seems like a good place to talk about how ott the coverage is . If she had died I could understand it , tv3 has shed loads of experienced staff over the past couple of years so it's not exactly a huge shock for them to lose another one .

If you read between the lines though there is a growing bunch of disaffected ex media works employees (and their friends) ready and willing to have a snipe at the organisation. My guess is that is what this coverage is trying to do.

I think it is well beyond proof that Stuff is lightweight fluff with barely the touch of an editor let alone anyone with journalistic credibility.

If I open the site or app I go in fully aware of that and am ready to skip past many headlines.

Be honest though Jegga, you showed your true colours in another thread on Hilary Barry and only BSG chipped in to agree with you so you are having another dig here. Apparently she deserves your scorn because she has ideals left of centre and of course anyone like that gets lumped in with the far left in your eyes. As for your comment about her and Mandela do you really think she called the shots on that one? Pretty good for a mere auto cue reader to control the news purse strings like that don't you agree?

Plot for your next book Mokey. Of course they probably didn't have dating apps in Tudor England ...

This thread is not abut jegga though is it. It is about a newsreader getting saturation coverage for simply resigning. But seen as you want to question posters motivations for contributing to threads on TSF... why are you keen to defend the zealous coverage and fluffing? Why does anyone who criticised left of centre newsreaders (according to you) need to be criticised and you have a dig at? Seems like you are just trying to shut down another poster by trying to make the topic about him.

If all these journos and newsreaders were so damn good.... wouldn't the ratings have been better?

Campbell and Barry were not much of a ratings winner.

That was on the other thread about tv shows, where it belonged I thought. I never liked her betraying her politics when she read the news in much the same way as I can't watch Henry or Hoskings, thats not her job and at the time I found her travelling to be there for Mandelas death funny and sad at the same time. I started a thread about it at the time and iirc quite a few other people agreed the vulture like behaviour of the press was pretty appalling even more so when they got tired of waiting for him to die and came home.

My comments on this thread are about the over the top attention her resignations has received by stuff on a thread about stuff, Mark Jennings is gone after 23 years there , Campbell live is Campbell dead, 3d went and took about 13 employees with it, David Farrier has gone , Scout was stillborn, they lost home and away and the simpsons and an executive there was recently in court for smashing a lower ranking co workers desk with a hammer while she was sitting at it. I get it, tv3 is not a happy place to be at the moment but it's been poorly run for most of its life so thats not exactly exactly earth shattering news is it? But six articles[and counting] in a little over 24 hours about Hillary Barry changing jobs?Thats pathetic, if she had died I could understand it.

Still can't understand why you decided to take me to task about actually discussing something that related to the thread topic , but there you go .I don't recall ever lumping her in with the far left either so thats in your imagination.

Shame there aren't photos of the two women in question. It's pretty odd to turn your back on a marriage for someone you've known for a week, there might be slightly more to this than she's letting on I reckon.

Haha, thanks for not mentioning my name on that one.

When Campbell left and people were all over Stuff commenting and crying as if their family had been slaughtered in some third world country I made the absolutely fatal mistake of commenting that he was a master at only taking one side of any given story to make himself look good and that he was campaigning for the "little guy". Fucken hell, the illiterates sure tore me a new one that day, I got told amongst other things I was a "one of da haterz" and that "your one of those fullas who thinks there better than everyone".......

Take a bow all you ferners, at least when we argue it's always legible and literate.

It's all a plot from national to clean the leftards out of tv3 if stuff comments are to be believed .

Mike McRoberts might want to wait a while until the nations tissue supplies are replenished before he hands in his notice.

But Campbell, Barry et all......ARE FUCKEN NEWS READERS......not music/film/sporting icons ( who incidentally are not even dead ). So what if they've been in our living rooms for almost as long as I remember ? So has an oil stain on my carpet.
