@kirwan I am flabbergasted at how quickly they are moving. It's truly insane.
This is worth a watch (more to come). It's very interesting what he says about design being a rounding error in the manufacturing process. Easy to design a rocket, hard to build the rocket factory essentially.
Also like his comments about the design process they use, great line about the problem with smart engineers optimising a process/part that doesn't need to exist. Had great examples for it too.

@nta I love that picture so much.
This thing fully stacked is so cool. Any news on when it’s getting fired up?
Nope - but they wouldn't be risking it unless they were ready to do something I guess.

Drama!

Yeah, he's going to lose.
As one of the commentators noted, it's an interesting strategy to point out how risky your opponents strategy is when you've not launched anything into orbit and your plan cost twice as much.
The GAO report was pretty comprehensive, and I doubt this will even get to trial. People are guessing this is an attempt to get a chunk of the next project (NASA have long term plans for the moon). Basically, he's taking his arsehole business practices to government contracts. He screwed over Microsoft recently with the same approach.
He's a cockroach.

@kirwan bezos is definitely a cockroach
As is Musk
ok, I'll bite. Why do you consider them the same?
I see a big difference in ethics and goals/delivery between the two. Yes, Elon posts childishly on Twitter at times, sometimes painfully so. That makes him a dick (or insensitive to how he comes off due to Asbergers) not a cockroach.
The net good from Elon's companies seems pretty high.

@kirwan I’m not saying one is better or worse than the other but there seem to be more Musk fan bois. Not accusing anyone here but to me he’s not the saint some like to make him out to be
Off the top of my head;
The Thai cave rescue BS
Market manipulation of crypto currency’s. Anyone else would be at the very least investigated
COVID comments -
I think personally they both seem a small grievance away from being a super villan....but musk seems to be channelling things towards more practical and useful results....bezos just seems like we haven't found his volcano leer yet

COVID commentsPretty sure I covered this under "dick". Also, he was asked to help with the Thai rescue, so how that ended up was pretty unfair, but he shouldn't have called the dude a pedo.
As for the Crypto stuff, give me a break. And partially agree with the Covid stuff, so again; Dick.
In the plus column, Tesla is responsible for sparking back into life the EV market, to the point it's on it's way to being the main default for the future.
Has progressed battery tech and made it accessible for consumers, and added an innovative solution for solar roofing. One of the few just not talking about how to get off fossil fuels, but doing something about it.
In a month or so, the world will have a full Starlink grid, opening up broadband access to remote areas and third world countries so they can skip building their own infrastructure. Also will be great for search and rescue in remote areas.
And obviously is making cheap access to Space a reality, a game changer for our future as a species. Nice to have someone with a vision longer than an election cycle, shame it's not being done by the goverments.
I could go on (and probably will). In short, he's a failure as a leech and a cockroach. And his contribution to society is way above a few shitty tweets and podcast appearances.
