@gt12 Waikato can - at worst - be relegated. The wooden spoon is for the team at the bottom of the Championship.
Nevertheless, glass houses and stones.

Manawatu's #6, Howden had a good game. 82nd minute and he's still getting off the ground quickly, chasing and making good covering tackles.
Cameron looked good, as did Wild at fullback.
Leger was very poor. As was Laulala. CM just looked lazy and placed themselves under pressure. No complaints if you keep giving the ref that picture.
PS: I can't tip.

Congratulations to the Turbos, despite CM not always getting the run of the green The visitors looked disjointed for a good part of the game
Turbos forwards were more accurate and the halves for the home team ,Cameron especially ran the cutter ..not much else to say ..my choice for MOM Hurley Langton -

Leger doesn't look good at five-eighth at this level.
Lavea got his backline selections all wrong. Leger should be at 12 and move Teleʻa to 13. Laulala might be better used at 1st 5 if he starts. Tikoirotuma looked his age.

I wouldn't say no to Motuga at the Chiefs.
You guys had a chance to call him up as injury cover this year, but chose a few others ahead of him.
The Chiefs didn't need another 7 with Boshier (x2). I think he has the physicality that Karpik lacks at SR level.

Well I enjoyed the game, bloody great having NPC back. Good on Manawatu, their pack just got stuck in and never let Counties settle properly. Think the Tu' will be quietly happy today and think maybe they starting to get a decent team to build on. Though hard to say after only 1 game, but think they would be looking at the positives.

Hugely frustrating game to watch from a CM view. Plenty of good stuff and effort getting constantly undone by errors and penalties.
They weren't helped by a ref that seemed to change his mind each ruck as to what constituted a release, a legal entry or off the feet and they stupidly got on the wrong side of him.
As I thought pre-game it is our midfield that needs to gel. A couple of communication fuckups on defence and no cohesion on attack. Both good players so here's hoping they sort it soon.
We got no reward for a dominant scrum in the first half so that was wasted effort.
Flush it.
Edit: and please put Roigard at 10

He must be rather versatile as I have it on good authority from J Holland that he is a halfback, shades of Ian Stevens and Jon Preston?), but then again that is the same Mr. Holland that played O Ledger at 10 ahead of him as well.

I see the NPC website has players match stats from opta on this page. Click on the players number
There's some stats missing, because Leger didn't look like he had a bad night.

Roigard can kick goals too. topped the counties club comp in 2019.

Great to see there are stats, but awful way of presenting them. There's no way you can easily compare player stats this way.
