You fucking Danish retards!!!!
What the hell was the Danish rider looking at? That's mental. The British rider should be made to give way
The new position everyone rides now - pursuit is all about CDA reduction - getting your head down out of the wind makes a massive difference. front guy just watches the line between the aero bars.
obviously has some downfalls when you're not expectiving anyone in front of you..

Then guys who are about to be lapped should be flagged to ride higher up the bank

Apparently the judges/refs are still deciding what needs to happen. Is there any rule that if you catch the other team you automatically win (or something similar)?
yeh there is in IP - I presume it would be the same for TP.
that's what they'll be trying to sort out I'm sure. I mean you'd have to say the Danes should really go through... (did I mention my multi? totally not biased)

Our diver came 8th. Apparently they are talent spotting by going to schools with fun coaching clinics and sending letters home with kids to parents saying they have the skills/talent to be divers. Aiming for medals by 2032. The main coach used to coach the Brits.

Team Pursuit
Competing teams of four riders start on opposite sides of the velodrome and race over 4,000m. The winning team is the one that records the fastest time or in the finals, catches its opponents.
I guess they're looking at whether finals means riding for a medal, or semi finals onwards.

Looked like a pretty clear catch - though to be fair I know more about the laws of rugby than cycling!

Wouldn't it just be the case that your tail rider gets the fuck off the track or you get a DQ?
Seems a bit stupid that you have to go around when they're pissweak.

It's why it's called pursuit. You win when u catch and pass your opponent. But, not ride up its ass.
As for your finals question, yes this is one. 2 teams on the track. In qualifying it is only 1 team on track.
I'm an expert. Plenty of experience watching a little bit every 4 years ...

nah cause they've still got to log a time for the bronze medal ride off..
which is why the passing rule won't apply
funnily enough my coach is one of the girls coaches and even he's not sure what the rulings going to be!
-
@williethewaiter I'm sure they'll be looking for a way to give it to the Danes - because basically the race was all over.
But, they'll have to find a rule to let them - and they may not have one.

Just saw the last bit of the cycling. So the NZ men finished 7th and women finished 8th in the team pursuit?
I've no idea where they sit in the field, but it doesn't sound too great.
Now cheering for the Dutch in the men's team sprint ...
yep. Girls very disappointing.
no men will ride for bronze - they must have 2nd fastest time actually pretty sure they beat hte aussies as italians got an OR and we were right there.
men missed riding for gold by bloody nothing.
but the semis were winning team straight thru no matter time.
Bronze contest is fastest two from all the others so I think nz v aus at this stage?
but waiting for the decision -

Logically, it's pretty hard to see how the fourth British rider - who has been clearly caught - can come back into play as the third rider.

He can only end up running interference, which is exactly what happened
