Badminton is on, which I prefer to tennis.

Speaking of wild mash-up's did anyone see the first leg of the lazar class sailing a couple of days back??
Seems there were about 40 boats all trying to get around the first mark at the same time, coupled with boats doing penalty turns off the first mark...
So you had boats upon approaching the first mark trying to avoid the boats doing penalty turns and also trying to avoid the boats coming the other way trying to round the first mark...and then when they rounded the first mark they had to avoid the incoming boats trying to round the first mark as well as avoiding the boats doing the penalty turns at the marks exit.
Confusing?? Yep it was like watching a bunch of seagulls fight over a loaf of bread...
Was that yesterday? Between the 7s games? It was great watching... a true logjam of little boats bouncing off each other.

Sailing update. Our 470 men crew of Paul Snow-Hansen / Daniel Wilcox are sitting second overall in their first day of sailing. They sailed well in much steadier conditions than what we've seen over the first two days of sailing. They managed to grab a 6th and a 2nd.
In the Finn class, Wellington lad Josh Junior managed a 3rd and a 7th to sit 8th overall after 4 races.
After a horrendus first day in fickle conditions, Peter Burling & Blair Tuke managed an 8th and a 2nd to sit 5th overall after 4th races.

Haven't been impressed by some of the TV production work tonight. As well as there being too much spider cam during live play at the Sevens, the sailing producers love to cut away to yet another close up just when potential carnage is starting to unfold at the mark roundings.

Also I watched 3 on 3 basketball and it is some uni games shit.
In-laws were over and wanted to watch the news. I was assured they would cut the news for the finish. They did not. I hate Ch7.
Now I won't watch anything until the running starts.
I'm guessing one of the advantages of polygamy is that the multiple in-laws visiting would be too busy fighting to notice the tv is on the sports channel..

As it stands, a single gold would out us into 19th, 2 would put us into 11th. Currently at 34th on the table.
Fingers crossed for Dame Valerie and the rowers.
Women's 7s, pretty good shout

Still 0-0 in the football vs Romania.

Romanians are diving so much they should be in the pool

True. The Tennis players have quietly snuck into the semi finals too.

Funny too with a Peruvian ref, who you would think would whistle those dives.
Anyway, a 0-0 draw. Good enough for NZ to advance to the QFs - a first.
