Great game from the broncos. Let's see if they can keep it going
-
@raznomore Souths have salary cap problems and have thrown a fair bit of money at keeping Mitchell and Walker, and like Reynolds, they only offered Gagai a 1 year deal.

After 26 years of this, maybe it’s time for the Warriors to just be kicked out for another Australian team. The players themselves seemed to give up on defence about the time Ivan Cleary left…
Bah.
But we have the messiah Cameron George and his merry men (minus one now Gus has gone) who are leading the Warriors to ultimate success. (Warriors fans still peddle this even now after at least three years of failure under George).
i don't support/hate George, however you can hardly blame him for insane injury toll, having to live away from home continuously (with players who we know some of are anti vax, some of whom are so soft they can't live away from home for work), which were not bought under his ownership. We started to turn a corner defensively last year under Payten, who they tried to secure but went to N Qld. There are few coaches that have got the best out of the warriors and at least he had the balls to get rid of Kearney who has a first grade coaching record that is woeful...everywhere.
To be honest I didn't expect a complete change in fortunes due to the situation, but some times you do need to put 3 years into perspective..
I don't hate George, he's just overhyped, and he had 2 years (maybe 2 1/2) in the role before Covid hit.
One of those players you mention (Fus) was given his big long term deal under George.
I'm the opposite from you though on Kearney, he was left in the position too long.Anyway, I should stop letting this bother me, I'm a Storm fan now (or whichever team has the most NZers ... it will be like pre 1995 again when I used to go through the squad lists at the start of the season to find my teams to support).

@african-monkey as I said. Mitchell is a c@nt...

You meaning Latrel M? If so I'm not surprised. He looks like he could be an arshole in training etc...

RTS immediate release. Surprised no one has mentioned it.
In my mind the Warriors are already done for the season. I'm not paying attention
I’ve been like that since about 95 albeit with a brief hiatus in 2003

Well because he left before Aug 2, frees up an extra 250k. Apparently Joey Manu target of a 1m bid as a result

@daffy-jaffy Imgine how much more awesome that would be in landscape

Joey Manu is a player i would love to get. Not sure i am paying a centre a million bucks though.

well if the Roosters end up with the hectic cheese they won't have enough to keep Joey even with a salary sombrero..1m is a lot, but often teams like the warriors have to pay overs anyway

surely the Storm pony up the cash to keep the Cheese?
as to the 2nd sentence, yup, and that's why the bottom teams and the top teams stay pretty much the same year after year. You either get lucky with a whole bunch of juniors at the same time like Penrith, or you pay overs and hope to fuck they don't flame out.
Or you are the Storm or the Roosters and you get guys for unders because they will win you stuff and get you in rep teams.

I think the storm are likely to match it, but if he wants to be a starting hooker every week then to be honest he is better off leaving and I suspect he might.
