NPC - news, injuries etc

@canes4life Ories played Fidow at 8 on the weekend so he might be the go😂 can’t really see anybody in anybody’s line up that has shone.

The Manawatū Turbos will be without captain Jamie Booth for their 2021 season.
The 26-year-old made the tough decision to withdraw from the campaign last week after taking medical advice on his recovering leg.In a bid to get back onto the field, Booth played the final handful of club games for Varsity in Manawatū club rugby.
His class and experience shone through on the field, but he did not have his usual burst of pace. The toll of the matches also became apparent in the days following each match.
Specialists have since advised him not to continue playing this year. -
@stargazer interesting that there is no mention of him signing for the Canes in 2021. Maybe he's on the outer because of injury.
-
@canes4life Yeah, he was only signed for 2020. His continuing injury problems are not exactly a reason for the Canes to re-sign him. I feel sorry for the guy. He's 26, so should still have years of rugby in him if he can get over this injury, but it will be hard to get a SR contract, except as injury cover/replacement.
I haven't seen any news about the Canes re-signing Campbell or Roigard yet. I assume at least one of them will be re-signed. Enari may be in the picture, too, if he has a good NPC season. Not sure who else is still out there.
-
@stargazer Judd is also back playing for Wellington so he's another option. He was another player who was really solid for the Canes before he went offshore. A few options out there, let's see if the Canes select the right one.
-
@canes4life Was just going to post that. With him playing for Wellington, that's about 99% certainty he'll have a Canes contract, too.
-
snapped up naholo and i thought Mckay was going overseas
-
@kiwiwomble McKay is going overseas. After the NPC.
-
@kiwiwomble Jack Debreczeni is a surprise.
-
@stargazer aslong as we pick up Roigard, I’m not too fussed on who ends up being the third halfback.
-
Strong Cantab squad. Anyone keen to name their top 23 minus All Blacks..
-
i always find it funny, and i know its not as simple as this, but Daniel Lienert-brown players for Canterbury and the Highanders but Bower plays for Otago and the Crusaders
you would have thought they could swap so they could settle in one town
