Now a mistake from Truesdale, who kicks the ball out on the full.
Not sure who one of the commentators is, but he makes the interesting comment that Truesdale is a real 10 and that Thompson-Dunn is a midfielder playing 10, hence why his kicking game is not as good as Truesdale's.
It's a pity that Thompson-Dunn has been pushed in that 10-role for Hastings. It would be much better for him to play in that 12 jersey. I guess they don't have a real 10?

Handbags!! A big, hard tackle from Hastings' fullback Jayden Rihia on Kienan Higgins was the reason. Ref now talking to the AR, probably asking whether it was high.
Now the other AR comes running over from the other side. Are they talking about a (red) card?
Long discussion.

Decision time ...
Both Hastings' fullback (Rihia) and Taradales no. 16 get yellow. Rihia either for that tackle or for something that happened afterwards. The no. 16 definitely for the handbags. Not sure who the 16 is; doesn't look like Jayden Walker.
Truesdale misses the penalty kick.

Hastings very unlucky; a very bad pass from the reserve halfback gave a T'dale player the chance to kick the ball ... hitting a Hastings player, meaning a knock by Hastings.
One final scrum and Taradale kicks the ball out.
Taradale are the Maddison Trophy winners and I have to say it, it's well-deserved despite it being a game of two halves. They're winning the double this year.
Full time: Hastings 15 - 21 Taradale
