good news i am finally below 150kg - current weight 149.2kg, i have lost 3 kg in the last fortnight. Will post an update photo in the next couple of days, can now fit my old 42" jeans for the 1st time in 4 years.
Total weight loss so far 31kg in 15 weeks.
Bad news is that i have been throwing up every 2nd or 3rd meal as i still struggle to eat slow enough and chew each mouthful for 1 minute . I put it down to being a slow learner and having had to compete with 2 older brothers growing up and eating as quick as you can, so you don't miss out.
On days when i have a beer or four, ,i don't even worry about eating because after the op i have found it impossible to combine the two. I have discovered a new diet craze - eat for 5 days and drink all you want for 2. Works well for me

Thats a staggering amount of weightloss well done mate.
Hopefully you will get the chewing sorted and stop the throwing up!

Might have to change your nickname sometime soon <img src='http://www.daimenhutchison.com/invision/public/style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/wink.png' class='bbc_emoticon' alt='' /> -
Sorry guys for not reporting more often. I feel bad for having good news in these dark days but i am now 139 kg nearly 40kg lost in total.
I can fit into 40" jeans and am down to 3xl on shirts. It seems that i lose about 1.25 kg per week which is really cool. I get a lot of compliments about the weight loss but am not very good at accepting praise and just say theres a long way to go.
My blood pressure is 120/70 and cholesterol is 4.1 so every thing is cool. I still don't exercise like i should and probably feel as week as i ever have in my life mainly through not eating enough as it is very easy to skip meals because i'm not hungry most times.
My goal weight is 115kg, so probably by march 08 should be pretty close.
will post more and apologies for not keeping everyone informed . -
thanks fbb, keep it up - ditch the weight than hit the exercise - it IS so much easier once you get lighter!

Apologies accepted <img src='http://www.daimenhutchison.com/invision/public/style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/wink.png' class='bbc_emoticon' alt=';)' /> -

What happens when you hit your goal weight, does the body just naturally plateau or is there some more surgery to reverse the operation?

40kg is a monumental amount of weight to have lost. It would be hard to imagine walking around with 40 extra kilograms on. When I lost 17kg a few years back, I couldnt even begin to think what it would be like going for a run wearing 17kg of weight on my body - carrying an ipod is enough for me! -
when (not if) i reach my goal weight and sustain it for 3 months they can (the surgeon) can loosen the band - It cant be removed - and then i would maintain the weight . 118kg is my goal weight but the surgeon said it is possible (not probable) that i could get down to 90kg as i will keep losing until my body decides enough is enough.
The lowest weight i have ever been over the age of 21 is 106 kg and that was after 4 straight rugby seasons (2 in nz and 2 in wales) . at that weight you could see all my ribs and mates were telling me to put on some weight but i was very fit in a non gym sort of way.

will weigh myself on friday and post results -
finally some photos , weight 138kg
-
and more

Good work FBB. Class stuff!
-
brilliant stuff - Prop Cyril was where you are now - 137kg eight weeks ago - now down to 125 doing that body for life thing. He stgarted though previous to that at 146 (at least).

So if he had not body for lifed, you would have had to rename your thread - second heaviest bloke... <img src='http://www.daimenhutchison.com/invision/public/style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/wink.png' class='bbc_emoticon' alt=';)' />

but there is still time - PC's goal weight is 115....! -
Weight now 136 kg , quite a small weight loss in the last 3 weeks but still heading in right direction.
-
Good news now weigh 135kg and have finally started my exercise regime. It took a good look in the mirror before i went for a swim with the kids, although i have lost 45kg i am very flabby and soft and didn't like what i saw.
Joined the local gym that day , got a weights program to work to, and have been going every 2nd day for a week with 1 hour walks on days in between. Exercise is a lot easier with the weight off but am still buggered after a 6am gym session.
It has taken me 6 months to find the motivation to exercise properly so very happy that i have started . Should help with weight loss as well. The hardest part is trying to boost protein intake as eating red meat / chicken is very difficult, fish goes down well and i am calling into the fish markets regulary (not cheap in Oz). It looks like a protein supplement is the way to go and i will probably start next week on them. Any advise on what is a good one would be appreciated.

today in gym. Bench press 2 x sets of 15 @ 40kg
shoulder press 2 x sets of 10 @ 35
lateral shoulders on cables 3 x sets of 10 @ 30 kg . Shoulders were rooted after this
leg extensions 2 x sets of 15 at 45kg
rear leg curls 2 x sets of 15 at 45kg
calf lifts 2 x sets of 15 at 65kg
seated squats 1 set of 10 at 100kg -
well done - first step and all that, just hope that the exercise bug bites you now. Know what you mean about things being easier when lighter - 95kg now instead of 120 and touch and other sports much more enjoyable.

Your body won't know what hit it, but will love you for it!! -
Still training hard every 2nd day in gym and walking on days in between (1 & 1/2 hours yesterday). Only lost 1.5kg in last fortnight but have lost 2.5% of bodyfat (down to 24.8%) which is excellent.
The days of easy weight loss are gone, i think every kg is going to put up a fight -
You are right there FBB, but also the weight loss will slow as in the gym while you are burning off mre fat, you will be adding muscle mass, and muscle weighs more than fat.

Sooo, you weight loss will be less - so keep your eye on that percentage thing, and the tape measure. Those are your firneds now!!

Well done is all I can say. -
What a fucking fantastic effort FBB.

You're right in that losing the weight will slow right down now - and it's more a case of tidying up what's left. Now you are on the exercise trail, take advantage of it and try to fit in walking in places that are really scenic if they are close by. It's amazing how rewarding a hike to a viewing point can be and you don't even realise that it was also exercise!

How many years do you reckon you've added to your life in the last 6 months? -
Good News , My daughter Evie Rose born 7am this morning weighing 7lb 14oz, mum and daughter well. Dads off to the gym tomorrow morning
