Damn a try in both games. Not for the good guys.

Great break in the Napier game for Rotorua's number 10 Tome Cooper, who's really good.

An intercept try for NP in the other.

    Rotorua leads 14 - 3.

    New Plymouth leads 7 0.

    Come on boys!

That NP try was totally against the run of play.

Rotorua is clearly better than Napier though.

The ball handling from Hastings is beautiful. They just can't finish their attacks just yet. Flanders, Pese and Pasikala in the forwards; Dicky and Tupou in the backs are excellent.

Try to Kaihau Pasikala! Totally deserved. They're the better team.

Hoera Stephenson converts and it's 7 all.

Coach killer. Hastings gets a line-out close to the NP try line, but it's not straight.

Should have thrown a normal throw, not one to the first man in the line.

Geez, another maul to Rotorua. Napier should work on their body position. Way too high.

Napier isn't short of attacking opportunities, but Rotorua just has a stronger pack and their defence is good. It would be great if Napier gets rewarded for their efforts. They deserve some points.

Half time: New Plymouth Boys 7 - 7 Hastings Boys

Hastings Boys should have been well ahead. I hope they can put some points on the board in the 2nd half.

Rotorua is so good in getting turnovers. Now they get another line-out near the Napier try line. Napier steal the ball, but then get penalised for joining the maul from the side.

Can the ref swallow his whistle please? All calls go against Napier.

And there is the next try for Rotorua by their right winger. You could wait for it.

    21 - 3 to Rotorua.

Just as Napier butchers a great opportunity, Hastings prop Aone Lolofie goes over for a well-deserved try in the other game!

Difficult kick for Hoera Stephenson, but he slots it!

    Hastings leads 14 - 7.

Hastings has to be careful. Another intercept for NP, fortunately not leading to anything .

Napier finally rewarded for their efforts. Great try to Bethel Leutele Malasia!

    Halfback Cory Berkett converts.

Rotorua still leads 21 to 10.

I'd feel a lot more comfotable if Hastings scored another try. NP seems to be getting back into the game.

Not good. Napier's Bethel Leutele Malasia gets off injured. Limping.

Hastings under the pump and giving away too many penalties. The ref gives them a warning.

NP have a good chance here.

Rotorua leads 28 - 10 in the other game.

Yellow card to one of the Hastings' players for offside. NP hot on attack, but Flanders turns the ball over. Still not safe though.
