seems like just another misery porn movie
looks like they didn't consult widely enoguh. You never can, but that's life eh

yep not my cup of tea either, the only funny side is if this was the UK they probably would have been casting Lenny Henry playing the part of Boris..

The film, entitled They Are Us, is being billed as an “inspirational story about the young leader’s response to the tragic events” that will follow Jacinda Ardern as she helped rally the government and the New Zealand public behind a message of compassion and unity in the weeks following the attacks.
I can't overstate how gross that is. Jesus Christ, little wonder there are people in the Muslim community pissed about it. If I was affected directly by that the last thing I'd want is a movie made that focusses on how amazing Jacinda is, especially when it is so recent and the wounds are still so raw. What the fuck are these people thinking.

@nzzp RNZ has members of both mosques saying they were consulted about it and support any movie that shows the truth about Islamophobia.
Depends who you ask.
Way too soon for this sort of stunt
Yep, no matter how much consultation you do, someone comes out and says they aren't happy.
Honestly, though, do we need more disaster porn like this?

@machpants Well he says he was shot, but there’s no way to tell.
That made me laugh even more. This should be in the "Awesome" thread.

One man’s attempt to create #FreeBritney merchandise for Britney Spears fans ended up in an unfortunate printing blunder. Karl Baxter, who works at Wholesale Clearance UK, was faced with a whopping 10,000 ‘#FreeBrittany’ t-shirts. Yep, you heard that right. The pop icon’s name was misspelled as the popular holiday destination in France, Brittany. Karl initially saw the opportunity to ‘gather interest from fans’ off the back of the #FreeBritney movement after he saw the ‘media storm’ around the controversial conservatorship.

People might be a bit pissed when they get there and it's not free (booze hotels etc)
