One other useful feature on the Rugby Museum (stats.allblacks.com) database is filtering by test venue.
I can add a 'City' filter relatively easy
The data I have for stadium names isn't that great. Incomplete for some Tests and inconsistent where the stadium has changed names etc
Yeah the city would be a simplified way of doing this. Otherwise for Auckland you need to include Alexandra Park, Potter's Park and soon to be Mt Smart.
I think this would be useful if, for example, you wanted to know the AB record in Jo'burg. The added feature of your results page is it includes wins, loses, average result, etc.

Am about to send you a spreadsheet that I nerded up a few years ago (when I was in total denial about how we didn't win World Cups, and didn't peak between them etc*).
(I know real stats nerds would use a database, not a spreadsheet, but I'm only a pretend nerd.)
So cobbled together a spreadsheet of results (no scorers info, just scores, venues etc) from various sources (AllBlacks.com, rugby museum, lassen.co.nz, and some other random results website I can't remember).
I expect you've got most of this information but am pretty sure I've got most of the venues included if you want to include an extra field.
I've generally named something like:
- Stadium Australia
- Stadium Australia- Telstra
- Stadium Australia- ANZ
Or for:
- Wellington Stadium
- Wellington Stadium - WestpacTrust
- Wellington Stadium - Westpac
- Wellington Stadium - Sky
Hope that helps
I could have got clevererer with the presentation, but it was only for my personal shits and giggles.
May be of use?
Emailing now.
'* re peaking between World Cups: completely inconclusive.

Thanks, just got a chance to look at it now. First of all, holy shit that is a great spreadsheet.
Wellington Stadium
Wellington Stadium - WestpacTrust
Wellington Stadium - Westpac
Wellington Stadium - SkyI think what I'll do is just use 'Wellington Stadium' and ignore the sponsorship
I'll do that sort of rationalisation for the NZ stadiums and a few of the main overseas ones. So eventually there will be a 'Stadium' filter but it won't include every single random stadium over the last 120 years
I have the 'City' filter working but it's not live on the website yet.. I'll update the website after I get the 'Stadium' filter working too

Thanks for the compliment.
Was developed over many years, with incremental improvements when I wanted to work out some new information.
Ran out of columns (if you can believe that) for all the opponents. So found a better way - eventually.
Being an Engineer a lot of what I do is plagiarising other guys spreadsheets, so always learning stuff.
People with more artistic flair would make it look better.

and Olympic Stadium - needs to be seperated between Rome, London, Tokyo.
Well spotted, thanks
I've updated the data

Post in here if you have any suggestions to make it better.
I don't want to know about the losses, so just the wins would be a huge improvement.
Seriously though, that is pretty cool. The fern as a "stats guru" Nice.
Likely means that more people are going to see the crap that I have posted over the last couple of decades but what the hell.

I just realised the SR Results page only has "Home" or "Away" options. I'll need to add "Neutral"
Should all the Queenstown/Dunedin bubble games be considered neutral? Even when the Highlanders are playing?
Doesn't feel like much of a home game, when they are separated from their families for a month.

No crowds either. They’ll be bused in like everyone else. Very small home advantage, I wonder if they’ll be made to go in the away rooms - that sort of thing has hapened before
-
I'll put them all down as neutral for now
I wouldn't be surprised to see restrictions loosen at some stage though. So you could have the Highlanders playing at Forsyth Bar with maybe a 1000 in the crowd.. then it gets harder to call neutral
