AFL 2021

@mariner4life it's more the timing that I'm excited about. Friday night games starting at 9.30 after a busy week, battling the kids and a couple of beers aren't conducive to fully engaged viewing experiences (in other words I can't stay awake) and I've now had two of them in a row. Hopefully we do put Collingwood to the sword, and I can watch it whilst cooking dinner and let wifey do the kid shit.

Another week of piling on Carlton after yet another loss. And it was the first really insipid loss of the season, so it's entirely deserved.
It's the same shit every week - not fit enough, and not active enough in defence. Hard to win games when you decline to score points in the 4th quarter, and also leave blokes wide open in their forward 50. Why they haven't done anything to even look like they are trying to fix it is beyond me.

of course the coach is in the gun, because one thing they haven't tried is replacing the coach...
-
@mariner4life Oh of course. But frankly if they keep losing the same way every week the coach SHOULD be in the gun because clearly it's a system problem as much as a personnel problem.
I'm not a 'sack the coach' guy generally, but I do subscribe to the theory that he could well go at the end of the season if there is no discernible improvement. That said Carlton's draw is much easier in the back end so I think that will happen.

Hawthorn in to the bottom two, and here come Richmond sniffing around their best player...
They're a bloody good outfit Richmond, the change in that club over the last decade is incredible. Getting in a guy like Tom Mitchell will really help them stay at the top for a few more years yet.
This will be a trade that helps both sides, Hawthorn need to start again, and therefore need draft picks. Yes they'll suck even more without Mitchell getting a heap of the ball, but they need that pain i think.

Buckley stands down, and now @shark has to worry about the dead cat bounce

Guess Nathan will go cry on her shoulder...

fuck is that the new misso?
and people had the audacity to have a crack at him for making the switch? have you seen the head on Nathan Buckley?
I would absolutely give up coaching that dogshit Pies roster to spend more time nekkid with that.

@mariner4life Jesus he makes Trent Merrin's effort look like amateur comedy night at the local.

This is not pretty to watch. Up in Cairns where it’s wet and humid and if the ball doesn’t find the hand it’s a mess.
-
Saints useless.

Exactly the kind of stuff that turns people off the sport .

Wet yes, it was a bit drizzly yesterday. It's not humid at all though, and was pretty chilly last night

It was still 20+ degrees during the 2nd half which neither of these two teams would be used to at 9pm at night.

Faith in the dead cat bounce gets a nice collect from sportsbet

Weekend wrap
Port will host a final but aren't in Premiership contention. I may have been seriously wrong about Geelong
Sydney, that's awful
Questions need to be asked at the Suns
Lol @ teh Saints. They are allergic to winning
Poor North just cannot win
Richmond are making it very hard on themselves. While West Coast really fucking needed that
So either Bucks didn't lose the players, or they were trying real hard so the new guy picked them next week. Either way Melbourne should have been ready for that ambushAFL has decided to give themselves a test case. Two players going very very hard at a ground ball have collided, one has got a broken jaw. AFL has sent it straight to the tribunal with no charge. The outcome could change the fabric of the game.

sanity prevails, and the rough conduct charge is thrown out.
