Pitch looks awesome to bat on. We should aim to be no more than 2 down at the close.

    Oh do shut up ...

45/3 his morning. Could be better, could be worse. I didn't want them pushing much past 300 before the start of play so that'll do.

Time to dig the fuck in with the bat.

I think that's a pretty decent outcome - especially given the start to the innings for England.

If you win the toss and bat on a decent pitch, these days you probably want at least 400.

Need our batsmen to fire because the tail is long - wouldn't surprise me to see Wags batting at 8 - where he was 11 in the last test.

    1. I'm feeling a bit more optimistic about the WTC - our batting depth can be good - one middle order collapse seems to be about par for most sides in a season (unless you are the Pomgolians) - there's no need to shoehorn in Santnav when Kylo is superior in all facets - and having wags bat at 11 is a travesty - Lovely Trenty could bat at 10 and with our 1-7 batters I'd not be worried

I feel pretty much the same as the last two CWC finals positive, but sanguine. If one of our top three batsman score a big century we will win, if they don't we will lose.

We are definitely in with a shot though and adding a world class batsman in Conway on the way through does not hurt.

Apparently Conway had over 20 inside edges at Lord's. He has already had 2 here. Riding his luck at the moment trying not to chop on. The last one he played a little away from his body after cashing in with a number of off drives

Pretty ordinary all around from England there - jeez Broad can be precious sometimes.

I thought it was a clear bump ball

From memory Young's county form was 0 or 100, so this could be an interesting day.

Stuart Broad is still as big a twat as ever. Good to know some things remain constant...

So did the third umpire. He said it was clearly on the ground.

Even if the soft signal was the other way around, he might still have given it not out.

Nasser thought he got his fingers underneath. So that must mean it was a bump ball 😉

Wonder if the Match Referee pays much attention to any signs of dissent from his son...

His fingers were pointing down, there is no doubt at all the ball touched the ground which is what the 3rd umpire was saying. Not particularly controversial.

Do the players get to see replays on the big screen? Can't see an argument if Broad saw it

In the classic kiwi style Young has a knack of finding the fielder

Happy to get to lunch just one down. Nervous start for Young but started to look more comfortable. Conway is mentally tough, really doesn't let anything faze him.

Bed time, hope I wake up to good news tomorrow 🙂

That on drive he just hit off Stone (91mph) was absolutely gorgeous
