Hawkes Bay Schoolboy Rugby
-
Interesting to read this on the Whanganui Collegiate FB page:
2nd Day of Learning with the Hawkes Bay Coaching set up for the 1st XV Squad. The boys learned a lot of new Drills and Skills to take forward with them this season.
Is Whanganui our backyard now, instead of Manawatu's? That might explain why Godfrey ended up in our Academy and not theirs.

Games this weekend (8 May 2021):
St John's (Hastings)(mixed selection) v Palmerston North BHS 2nd XV - 12.00pm @ St John's
Hastings BHS 2nd XV v Lindisfarne 1st XV - 12.00pm @ HBHS
St Kent's v Hastings BHS 1st XV - 12.00pm @ SKC
Napier BHS v St Peter's Coll (Auckland) - @ Taupo -
I'm a bit confused, but it looks like that Hastings Boys v St Kent's game isn't going ahead, unless I totally misread a post on the Lindisfarne instagram page and their 1st XV does play Hastings' 2nd XV, and their 2nd XV plays a Hastings 3rd XV (is there such a thing?):
lindisfarnecollege: The rugby season kicks off tomorrow and all 6 Lindisfarne teams will be playing against Hastings Boys High School on the HBHS fields.
9.30am - Grade F, E & D
10.45am - U15 & 2nd XV
12pm - 1st XVThis post on their FB page clearly say that their 1st XV is playing Hastings Boys 2nd XV

Results 15/5/21:
As expected - losses to our CNI schools, but great results from our top two schools!

Lindisfarne College lost 22 - 47 to St Paul's CollegiateHastings Boys beat St Pat's Silverstream 47 - 17

Games on Saturday 22 May 2021:
CNI
- Wesley College v Lindisfarne College - 12.00pm (2nd XV at 9.15am)
- Feilding HS v St John's (Hastings) - 12.00pm
Traditional- St Pat's Wngtn v Napier BHS - 1.00pm (Evans Bay)
There was also a Hastings BHS v Scots College game planned, but I understand it has been cancelled. -
Napier Boys have claimed another Wellington scalp. They beat St Pat's Town 29 -19.
In the CNI, Lindisfarne got a good win over Wesley College: 20 - 12.
Unsurprisingly, St John's lost to Feilding HS: 12 - 22. Not as bad as last year, when they lost 0 - 38.

@stargazer I was certainly there in spirit but come Saturday late morning/early afternoon I am pressed into service at my whangai's cafe as he and his wife watch their daughter play for Ories from 11.30 onward. They are staunch practicing Catholics so I am smugly enjoying this result!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Today's CNI games:
St John's Hastings just got hammered by St John's Hamilton (12 - 57). Not really a surprise.
I'm now watching Lindisfarne College v Feilding HS via https://sideline.live/play/14601
Lindisfarne line-up:
- Jack Hamilton
- Kingshouse Tupuala
- Jasper Wallace
- Tom Druzianic
- Patrick Tuifua
- Lanson Randell
- Tino Savea
- Tams Heather
- Quinn Stevens
- Monte Timu
- Charlie Roil
- Tuawhio Porima
- Taylor Topp
- Grayson Hesketh
- Matawhero Wakefield Sciascia
- Bruno Wylie
- Hugh Kilsby
- Jonty Good
- Jonty Roil
- George Newman
- Tom Goodisson
I don't know whether openside Tino Savea is related to Jules and Ardie, but he's a strong unit, who just scored a good try. -
Savea would do well in football, too. Bringing Lindisfarne right back to Feilding's 22 with a good kick. It pays off. A few phases later, lock Druzianic scores off the scrum.
HT: Lindisfarne 22 - 3 Feilding HS
I'm pleasantly surprised. I expected Feilding to dominate this game.
Edited: oops, it wasn't quite half time yet. They play on.
