@voodoo of course Steph deserves the MVP, he carried a G-League roster to a proper play-off spot, by himself. He didn't score at least 30 they lost. Every fucking team knew it, and he still stuck up insane numbers
Of course he won't win it, because somehow the MVP is tied in to team success
But yes, i am cynical, based purely on years of this bullshit.
And, i am still a team-first guy. I hate this "rings or nothing" legacy bullshit that has overtaken the chat about players (we've been over it before) and look who is in the middle of it? old "The Decision" himself
And you're bald too James!
At least Jokic also had an epic year. The advanced numbers are ludicrous.
Rings or legacy, where does Steph "please come play with me Kevin" Curry sit in that conversation...

lol the myth rears its head
You mean the guy still at the team he was drafted to. a team that was a joke. then wasn't.
I don't give a fuck to be honest, i like Curry, and think he's the most maligned superstar i have ever seen. but i don't give a shit. I love that he's still at the same team, and hope he plays out. but it won't matter, he won his share, and didn't need to move.
A guy like Lilliard i respect. They haven't won, they won't win, he's a genuine superstar, and he's still there, banging it out for his team. That shit i respect.

Thats different thing though. We all love guys who stay with 1 team, the reality is thats going to happen less and less. Look at the real workforce, our grandparents stayed in 1 job for 50 years, our parents for 30yrs. We move every 5-10 and the young kids every fucking 2 years!
Money, fame, mates, lifestyle. You just won't get many lifers going forward .
Steph was also lucky to get drafted by GSW. If it was Toronto then I'm pretty sure he wouldn't still be there...
Out of interest, why do you say he is "most maligned "? He is universally loved, probably the most popular NBA star of the last 10years, multiple MVP winner.

read any NBA board and i reckon it's 70-30 people who think he's nothing, still has to prove himself, can't carry a team blah blah blah.
"oh he's never been a finals MVP, 30th best player ever AT BEST"
it's weird as fuck. NBA fans are really different.

Plenty of dumbasses out there! There's a huge cohort of people who think Kobe was the GOAT!
Heck, I've even met some folk who don't like Lebron, go figure...

Lakers fans are the fucking worst
especially those lakers fans who used to be Cavs fans, who used to be Heat fans...

Spurs go home
Which is what happens when you give up 38 in the first
If you want a ridiculous stat line, Valanciunas had his filthy way with us, 23 points not bad, but 23 rebounds is obscene
-
@voodoo I agree with that pretty much. I don't hate him, but he's a bit of a narcissistic tool. And as M4L says, you're fucking bald LeBron, so get a Shaq before you start doing some kinda weird black dude combover.
I'm going to have to watch Train Wreck again to warm back up to the Muppet.
-
@voodoo there is at least a very valid argument that Kobe is the greatest offensive player of all time when you combine all the ingredients - will to win, ability to get his own shot, the athleticism, the durability (he attempted 50 field goals and 12 FTs in one game!!!), the scoring ability from post up to getting to the rim.

And that's it, Steph can't get going and game over 103 -100.
Bad turnover by Bazemore to close out the game. Good comeback from the Lakers. Warriors rebounded better than I expected. They probably needed just a little bit more offence from Draymond.
Pretty good game.

How is any of that a valid argument over MJ???

His acting is actually good in that movie!
He really is a dick though, "I was seeing 3 rims out there", please. MJ ain't talking like that!
Man, AD is a pussy btw. He should have had 30 rebounds against this side.

I reckon their offensive games aren’t that different even though their roles in the team were slightly different.
And speaking of similarities....
-
@act-crusader I haven't watched the video, but MJ was so much more efficient than Kobe. We're talking 45% shooting vs 50%. It's a massive gap.
And just imagine if MJ played now with the 3pt shooting and today's pace.
He would average 40pts in today's league.

It's common knowledge that Kobe modeled his game on MJ
