Point taken about other sports I don't follow..

I follow rugby, cricket, cycling and athletics with passion. Of those I think NZ and South African rugby are the the ones who most often look to blame others for our losses (refs or officials).

You clearly haven't spent much time in Australia.

For what's it worth I think the standard of refereeing in super rugby has dropped the last few years and the expansion probably hasn't helped with resources stretched thinner with more games to ref. Ditching neutral refs doesn't help either and that's their own fault.
-

Fair enough. Which part of Australia? Living in Sydney the fans are super quick to blame the ref when it goes wrong (Super Rugby semi final last year v Highlanders springs to mind straight away).

Having said that - I think ref-bashing doesn't necessarily mean blaming the ref for the loss - I thought Lees was horrible in his reffing performance for the Reds-Blues game but not the blame for the loss - the Blues were worse for most of the match.
-

so you are being willfully ignorant, or exaggerating for effect. Fill your boots

Too many people jump to concluding that any discussion mentioning how the ref went is ref bashing though.

Most of the time no one is blaming the ref for the result just critiquing their performance as we do the players. If they make particularly puzzling or debatable calls then that is good fodder for discussion.

I've lost count of the times I have posted about a ref and within a couple of replies someone is accusing me of blaming the ref for the result when I have done no such thing.
-

Chiefs to win at a canter.
-
I reckon Tana has finished fine tuning the Blues and is ready to unleash. Like a guitar, when your tuning it it sounds like shit and anyone listening would think you don't know what you're doing. But once it's tuned it's time to rock and roll

Ranger passes right when he should have passed left.

reckon Ranger was unlucky not to be awarded a t/o there with how quick he blew the one for Cane moments earlier

Tale of 2 teams. Blues have the ball for ages and get zilch. The Chiefs get one sniff and nearly score
