All the players, all the resources, and it's fucked because the dumb fluffybunnies in charge can't get past private schools and Eastern Suburbs rugby clubs. I hope they suck forever.
The more people you have, the more dickheads you have to deal with.

some guy said that the state of the Waratahs is due to not enough attention paid to the Shute Shield.
Here's the funny thing: Shute Shield isn't run by NSWRU. It is run by Sydney Rugby Union (SRU) which is an affiliate union under NSWRU. They can choose to completely fucking ignore each other if they want, but they don't.
Perhaps need a few Sydney posters to get on their club committees and make a diffrence?

Couldn't hurt to have more people involved.
I'm on the Committee of my club and the Board of Suburban Rugby (which is the amateur competition that mirrors Premier).
Scope for change is limited because SRU can wall itself off from the rest. Rugby Australia aready took away the handouts. The only thing left would be for NSWRU to de-affiliate (?) SRU until they also undergo reform.
But that is a case of cutting off noses to spite faces etc.

Mostly for us it is discussing and voting once a month on things. New ideas etc.
Late last year I brought the concept of Womens Tens as an option for Subbies clubs - traditionally women's is the domain of NSWRU under the Sydney Womens Rugby Union, currently running 15s and 7s through the year (but only every 2-3 weeks for 7s).
I'd like the ladies playing alongside the boys on a Saturday. Much better atmosphere. Also means I can get grant money for double the change sheds
-
@stargazer Wow. Two weeks for that!
-
@antipodean Yes, if it was direct contact with the head, you'd expect more, wouldn't you?

67% discount because he hit Nic White

@nta My nephew is scoring bucket loads of tries for Uni at the moment so with what you have just said there will probably be a few more on the way this afternoon. Queue my confidence in that for him to suddenly stop scoring!!! We don't seem to be getting Shute Shield coverage on TV over here this year which is a bit of a shame, hopefully it might resume a bit later in the season........................

@higgins Penrith won 11-7 against fellow easy beats Two Blues.
They'll ship 100 against Uni
It's running at a point a minute 24 mins in...

0 - 38 at half time.

@antipodean only 50-nil?

Did not reverse jinx the nephew as he rolled in for at least one try (about six or seven for the season so far). The second half must have seen interested spectators invited to have half a game given the paucity of scoring after the break!

Midweek tests.
The Wallabies and France will meet in three tests in the space of just 11 days in July, with the teams playing two midweek tests. The first test is in Sydney on Wednesday, July 7 at the SCG followed by a Tuesday night Melbourne match at AAMI Park on July 13 and a final test on Saturday, July 17 at Brisbane's Suncorp Stadium. The condensed series is due to French club commitments and hotel quarantine for the visitors.
