testament to how little the regular season means

The Lakers, without their 3 best players, beat the Nets (yes without Harden and Kyrie got ejected) to the tune of 25 points.

This result should be huge, with a heap of chat. The myth that the Nets are the most stacked team ever BUSTED! The myth that the Lakers are LBJ, AD and a bunch of scrubs BUSTED!! Will the Nets experiemnt blow up because they can't develop chemistry as one or two of their stars are always out

instead, the entire league went "meh" and moved on.

    Start the fucking playoffs already

I tried to watch this game. The double ejection was so fucking weak.

    Regular season sucks arse.

Flipside is that the playoffs around be awesome this year with so many great teams falling to low seedlings.

If they started today, the West match ups would be

    Utah v Memphis (whatever)
Sun's v Mavs (the Luka trade grudge match!)
Clips v Portland (Dame v PG13 again, yeeoowww!!!)
Lakers v Denver (AD v Joker, MVP insults!!!)

    Holy smokes

Steph Curry goes past Wilt as the Warriors' all time scorer

And then went on to score 53 as the Warriors beat the Nuggets.

    LaMarcus Aldridge to retire immediately

Had an irregular heartbeat the other day that freaked him the fuck out.

Shit news when anyone has to finish like that. But especially for a guy like LMA who was chasing that ring to cap a cracker of a career. Thanks for those Spurs years.

@mariner4life He'll still get that ring when the Super Team To Top All Super Teams canters to the NBA Championship this year

@mariner4life I'd take the ring, but I could never flaunt it. I mean at the end of the day the record books will show he was a championship winner, so you may as well take the ring. But if he ever does any TV going forward you'd like to think it'd be a bit of a running gag - with LMA's buy-in - that 'he won' a championship.

    probably fair.

This is so accurate. There is just no narrative for the regular season and no one involved seems to care.

Great career LaMarcus, good luck in retirement.

Regarding the ring, isn't it up to Brooklyn, should they win, to give him one or not?

Toronto in 2019 didn't give one to Jonas Valanciunas, Delon Wright or C.J. Miles. JV in particular was a big part of their excellent regular season until the All Star break trade, I felt he was hard done by.

Feels like their should be a league-wide convention for ring / vs no ring, in terms of games or minutes played?

Does anyone think DC isn't a two time RWC winner after his 2011 injury?

    Steph is on a crazy run right now. His last 9 games he has gone - 33, 42, 53, 38, 32, 41, 37, 36, 32

He’s hit 57 3s at 47%, hit 92% from the foul line and 65% from 2s (he’s got more 2s than 3s in this stretch before anyone thinks he’s just about the 3).

Crazy run continues today with Curry scoring 47 after hitting 11 3s in a tight loss against the Celtics in Boston.
Draymond missed a layup very late in the game which would’ve tied it up. Kemba then goes and hits a big 3 and Warriors were chasing it in the last minute.

the rest of that team fucking sucks, everyone knows it. so Steph is putting up those numbers while being guarded by 5 guys.

Curry with another 49 as the Warriors beat the Sixers

The play-ins for the West should be good fun

And the 3 he hit on his brother to end the 1st quarter was sweet.

Good win in Philly although they didn’t have Simmons who they usually throw at Steph for parts of the game.

Embiid’s defence on the on ball screen for Curry was shocking

It was so bad, couldn't believe how low he was dropping - terrified of Steph going around him, but still that's the much lesser evil - especially when Draymond is the screener and there is no need to worry about him rolling to the hoop

Did anyone predict the Suns would have the best record in the NBA, unless they were 1-0 after day one??

The battle for the 3rd to 6th spots in the West is very interesting. There's a possibility that we could see the Lakers vs Clippers in the first round of the playoffs.

I like Jokic, so I'm hoping the Nuggets avoid the Lakers in the first round.

As Lakers' season unravels, LeBron rips play-in

As Lakers' season unravels, LeBron rips play-in

A sixth loss in seven games -- this time to the sub.-500 Raptors on Sunday -- had the defending champion Lakers being asked to contemplate a potential play-in scenario, a surprising turn of events for a team that started the season 21-6.

LAL in real trouble. LBJ and A are not fit, Kuzma and many of the supporting cast are banged up too. They are looking like a first round exit (assuming they survive a potential play in), the strain of the short turnaround from the bubble season is showing

And very down on personnel today too against a fully fit 76ers side that had all their key guys.

Lonnie and Keldon played damn well. And the other Luka showed some signs. Shame they couldn’t win.

The Bucks v Nets game definitely had a playoff feel to it. The big name players balling out. Huge numbers from the superstars. Defensive intensity. Fun to watch.
