    Josh Kronfeld - Wikipedia

    Josh Kronfeld - Wikipedia
    Kronfeld was born in Hastings in Hawkes Bay, and attended Hastings Boys' High School. Kronfeld described himself as "German-Samoan" and he is Jewish.[1] He played his early rugby union at scrum-half and centre, switching to flanker at high school.

    In 1990 Kronfeld moved to Dunedin to study physical education at the University of Otago. Here he became involved in the Otago University Rugby Club. After playing one game in 1992, Kronfeld gained a starting position in the Otago team in the National Provincial Championship (NPC) for 1993. Kronfeld would eventually play 69 matches for Otago. He completed his BPhEd degree in 1993.

    Also, Is Hoeft actually of Dutch descent? As it’s a North German as well as Dutch name.

    @nepia From the article below (from 2003):

    "My great, great grandfather was from Germany with a Dutch background. He left Europe and came to the Pacific where he married a Samoan and then settled in Tonga. My grandmother is a Cook Islander while my mum is a Kiwi so there is a lot of mixed bloodlines."

    @bovidae Looks like they are only playing about 25 minutes each way given the 3rd v 4th 2.50pm kick off is just sixty minutes after the game two kick off at 1.50pm.

    @higgins

    Yes, I looked at the starting times too and thought the same. Maybe even 20 min halves, so like in the game of 3 halves, each team plays 80 mins on the day.

    @bovidae interesting Reihana is playing for Taranaki, thought he may have got a run for Waikato even though he's signed for Northland....I guess Waikato are not to happy about that, or maybe just wanting to give as much time as possible to their flyhalf options for the coming season.

    From Waikato's perspective I see no point in using Reihana either. The Waikato team is named some time tomorrow so we'll see who gets the no.10 jersey. It could be Coombes-Fabling or one of the young 1st 5s. Coby Miln was on the fringes of the Waikato squad last year so is another option.

    I expect Sullivan to be released to play as he is never in the Chiefs match-day squad.

    Poor old Jared must be feeling a bit inadequate in that front row next to his mates Millenium & Crusader.

    there seem to be more double-barreled surnames than in Sydney private school First XVs
