“Kiwis can fly” - how long has the comm waited to say that?
That's been bandied about even during the Toyota ads, hasn't it?
But I do love listening to this part of the event, listening for the obvious rehearsed attempts to create a sound-bite la-la Montgomery.
Keep trying, chumps, that's never gonna be surpassed. -

Given the incredibly difficult year Italy has had with Covid, Team Luna Rossa were absolutely fantastic. So much respect for them.
fought so hard with what was eventually a slower boat. Great series, great racing, great fun. See y'all in 2 years

i hope its only 2 years, would be cool but any new teams wouldn't need longer wouldn't they?

depends if the class rules change. If not, there's enough knowledge aroudn to let people move to the next generation you'd think

Well done.
That is the first race I have watched. Not sure if it's the race timing or the fragmentation of modern broadcasting , but this regatta never really crossed my path.
My feedback. This sport desperately needs dropping spinnakers and the trepidation of whether it will be neatly packed into a hatch or dragged in the sea.

so cool to see

I read that all three teams, but especially INEOS and ETNZ were keen to keep the current boat class. For the next regatta I'd like to see aussie Jimmy at the helm of a proper aussie team. C'mon aussies, where the bloody hell are ya?

Is the Challenger of Deed, or whatever it's called, already announced?
I guess it couldn't be until Cup was won... is there odds/rumours on INEOS having a pre-written agreement withETNZ ready to go? -
@canefan i thought i had read the LR might have gone off the idea and now wanted to do something different and thats partly why the relationship soured
@Kruse not that ive seen but its normally real quick, my understanding is LR could have turned a round and challenged so if they have someone lined up they try and do it quickly

Maybe. Either way, Ben raced with us previously, and has a good relationship with the team. For now....

Some talk of a one on one AC challenge, ETNZ vs INEOS at the Isle of Wight in the near future. Sounds like fantasy, why would we want to give away all our home advantage? Would need to be for a shitload of money and even then the connection with the country would be critically broken
