    Red card. Correct call, although the Rebels prop went a bit low himself.

    Alaalatoa red card just before half time. Shoulder to the head in a tackle

    Competitive game. Rebels winning plenty of turnovers in the first 20mins. Brumbies dominated the second 20 but the Rebels generally defended well

    Rebels winning 12-10 at half time

    Rebels will be a decent side if they can get some attack going

    Koroibete had a very good second half

    I expected a comfortable win for the Brumbies. Instead, it took a 82nd minute penalty kick to take the win.

    The Rebels aren't as weak as I thought at the beginning of the season.

    @duluth attack has been Rebels issue for a while. Hard to see it suddenly changing.

    @kiwimurph

    True

    If they were just a bit more calm on their rare attacks it would make a huge difference though. They were forcing impossible passes.. panicked when they were 5m out etc.

    @duluth They would look much better with a quality 9. Brumbies moved on from Powell for a reason.

    Rebels are a wee bit of experience away from a decent side. Matt Toomua is Aussies best inside back by a country mile. He will be pivotable to Wallabies' success. Sooo wanted them to win against the Bumboys.....sigh....

    They under performed massively the last two years

    8 penalties. Did the Rebels look like scoring a try?

    @bovidae

    They got close a few times. 5m out with pick and goes twice.. made a break late and forced a pass that could’ve won the game.
    Koroibete made plenty of breaks but from deep and the support isn’t good enough

    They tend to take more shots and go to the lineout less than other teams too. An admission their execution sucks.

    Two weeks, two close losses against the likely finalists. They’ll be stuck in a comfortable 3rd place if they don’t improve their attack

    I thought the Rebels played close to their maximum capability given the roster they have. The Brumbies were maybe a bit below par but that was mostly because their lineout went to shit when they lost the starting hooker early.

    Rebels' Hosea is a very good, athletic lock from our U20s program who looks like he could be the goods 🤔 so it is only a matter of time before he goes to Europe. Let's hope he gets a few Wallabies Tests in before then. Young.

    Damon Murphy is such a shit ref. Refused to even look at the last feet at ruck time, ignoring the Brumbies for the first 25 minutes as they repeatedly infringed. Lonergan stole about half a metre for that final kick, and that is also on Murphy being useless, regardless of the result. He also couldn't tell that the Brumbies didn't have a dominant scrum, giving them a penalty for wheeling, and letting the Ponies' 9 delay the feed too often.

    I'm not sayign the Brumbies are a bad team and don't deserve to win; their midfield versus the Reds will be worth the price of adminission alone. But fuck they get a legup from the officials, and Caydern Neville is a useless niggly fuckwit.
