Well worth hearing Ted from 08:00 talking about new players. He is a Will Jordan fan. Great minds think alike. So much Rugby knowledge. I'd like to see Ted involved in AB selection if possible.

He's also very concerned about the dwindling player numbers. This should be the number one priority for NZR to fix.

It would be interesting to see if an 85kg competition could be financially viable.

I’m not big fan of Fitzy’s media persona. This interview was pretty good though.. He was more relaxed than normal

Trying to pick the All Blacks back three | Aotearoa Rugby Pod

Ross Karl is joined by Bryn Hall and James Parsons as they look ahead to the first Bledisloe Test of 2020. Along the way they analyse the NZ line out and try to pick their starting XV for the All Blacks.

Also, proof that refs don't actually know the rules.

Another great Aotearoa Rugby Pod with Parsons and Hall -some interesting comments about the attacking structure of the ABs - doesn't sound like they are sold on it.

Will someone please just take a droppy?! | Aotearoa Rugby Pod
Ross Karl, Bryn Hall and James Parsons talk all things Bledisloe 1. The impact of Caleb Clarke, the calming influence of Dave Rennie and why no one kicked a blimmin' drop goal?! They get into the nitty gritty.

Keepa Mewett (Bay of Plenty) has been doing a series of one on ones with various people (mainly ex. Bay of Plenty players on their careers, goal setting, fitness regimes etc. Very interesting and worth a watch. I think Mike Delany was the last and Jared Hoeata is next.

    Parsons and Hall are back:

Goal line drop outs, Hurricanes halfbacks and who can knock off the Crusaders?

Talking Performance Episode 37 with Special Guest Ian Foster

All Blacks head coach Ian Foster recently appeared on the ‘Talking Performance’ podcast co-hosted by former Chiefs sports psychologist David Galbraith. During an interesting chat about his background and approach to coaching, he also reinforced the national team’s desire to rely less on physicality than their competitors:

“With the All Blacks, we’ve decided — we’re a powerful team, but we’re also a really skilful team, so we want to play a fast, skilful game; we’ve probably gone backwards a little bit in the size component…we actually haven’t got the biggest team in the world — even in our loose forwards, we often play Sam Cane and Ardie Savea together, rather than have a number 8 who’s 117 [or] 118kg like a lot of teams.”

(In another episode worth listening to, Foster’s Wallabies counterpart Dave Rennie was on the same show a week earlier.)

It was always clear that his work-rate got him there, and that he wasn't quite world class. Nevertheless, you can't not like this bloke, especially after hearing him talk about his rugby story:

I actually think Parsons and Hall with Ross Karl are pretty good value. Certainly go into more depth than the Breakdown.
