@mokey Yeah - but, apparently he is back bowling fast and got through a BBL season uninjured.

I see he played 12 matches, bowled 44 overs and had a very respectable economy rate (slightly better than multi-million dollar Jhye Richardson). Picked up hardly any wickets though, so had a terrible average.

    https://stats.espncricinfo.com/big-bash-league-2020-21-1226769/engine/records/bowling/best_career_economy_rate.html?id=13692;type=tournament

Shane Bond is bowling coach at both the Thunder and Mumbai, so I guess he knows what he's doing!

@chris-b i watched him. He was good. Bowled to plans with consistent accuracy. 140 odd throughout. Got no wickets but bowled really well at the start, you're always going to get smashed 1 game out of 5 at that pace, that's a given but he was very reliable early on. Took some tap at the end a couple of times, but who doesn't. Real dearth of wickets but that seemed a quirk and not a reflection of impotent bowling. A lot of the batsmen were playing him conservatively at the end of the season. Swung the ball for an over and a bit, but all bowlers could only get 1 or two overs to swing this year.

No surprise then that Bondy had the say again but Milne can definitely do a job. I'd have him in the black caps if available

    2019 Interview with Jeff Thomson.

Thommo tells a story about 70-year-old Don Bradman batting in a backyard in Adelaide in 1978 that Thommo witnessed.

Go to the 30.00 minute mark.

ND are rocketing along at 7.8 an over in their rain reduced (42 overs) elimination final against Wellington.

    Currently 243/3 from 31

    Cooper 91* (59)
    Hampton 24* (9)

@gunner that would be a scarcely believable score a few years ago. T20 has changed our game... and shorter boundaries and bigger bats, of course

    @nzzp 100%.

I know those run rates are common place in T20's, but it's pretty impressive to sustain it throughout a 50 over game, or 42 over game in this case.

@siam Anyone here a fan of Neil Wagner?

I suspect anyone on here that isn't would be promptly handed a life ban.

Are you a massive fan of Neil Wagner?

ND racked up 351/8 from their 42 overs.

    Henry Cooper 146* (94)
    Joe Carter 75 (71)

with cameos from Hampton, BJ and Kuggeleijn.

Wellington need to score at 8.38 an over to get to the final.

Wet, hot and humid in Hamilton so there would have been delays early in the inning.

ND need to get Allen out early.

Only 12 from the first 4 overs for Wellington, and the required run rate is already up to a shade under 9.

    Tough ask.

My attempt at outrage click bait 😉

By God weren't the stats enlightening? Really told a unique story and probably cemented Wags as next best outstanding bowler behind Paddles

It would be a dick move of the NZ Government to not allow Conway back into the country if he goes on the England Tour.

Some of the Warriors players were in the same situation last year and it was sorted out.

I hope so. Don't know why it needs to make the papers, the guy has the potential to be a wags level national treasure, just fix it already

Fixed. Since my son has decided to become a keeper I’ll always go into bat for them ( shitty pun intended ). BJ is just as loveable as Wags, not to mention the hairy jav before them.

Dale Steyn for all his awesome ability can fuck right off though. Boring fluffybunny.
