Watching Ballmer courtside was as good as the game itself.

@act-crusader yeah a real mixed bag the last few days with the win over the Pels and getting run down by the Nets after leading by as many as 24! Still fourth I think in the West though.

Now that Saric is back and Kaminsky is starting to play okay, the Suns have a very good 9 guy rotation come playoff time.

And we're thrashing some teams the last few days, wow. Now 20-10.

Ballmer is absolutely comdey gold in basically everything he does. Giving as few fucks as him about what other people think is an inspiration to us all. Legend.

Steph back and goes for 37.

If he can average 30 with a 50/40/90 season and have the Warriors over .500 and secure a playoff spot in the West, give the man the MVP 😎

It's Embiids to lose right now, despite what the odds say...

He’s having an amazing season. What I like is that he’s attempting less 3s (lowest number of his career) and upped his post and midrange game. FT attempts per game up and shooting 85% from the line.

    Jokic for MVP!

His numbers are insane this season.
    alt text

He's also 1st in the NBA in win shares, PER, box plus/minus and value over replacement.

If he can move the Nuggets into the top 4 in the West and he keeps this production up, I think he wins the MVP.

MVP is wide open. Lillard is fucking killing it as well. The old bloke in LA is still doing amazing things. Harden is having an incredible run.

I have Embiid, LeBron, Jokic in that order

Jokic's numbers are amazing, but you can't give it to a guy if his team is 7th and barely above 500

@voodoo I think position on the ladder will count for slightly less this year. As long as you are in the top 8 you should be a good look. Too many teams having to play with there stars out because of covid protocol etc.
I saw a wizards game a few weeks ago they had like 8 players and 4 of them I had never heard of.

Jokic,Lillard,LBJ, Embiid, Harden and/or KD if he gets back soon and stays healthy. Hes been deadly but missing too many games.

Atlanta have fired their coach after their big off-season has resulted in them going 14-20

I saw that headline but I'm not surprised at their immediate record despite their off-season signings so I think this is a little tough on the coach. Rondo, Bogdanovic and Gallinari were good pick-ups, but they're hardly the making of a super team. The roster has high potential though and Rondo is on a two year deal so with near-instant validation required I can see why management have done this. It'd be similar at the Suns if Chris Paul wasn't doing what he was brought in to do: first step is change the coach and then plan B is tinkering with the roster.

Atlanta fans seem generally happy with the decision, so i usually base my opinion off that. Reports of friction between Young and the coach, the coach is usually going to lose that scenario unless he has good runs on the board.

The roster (injuries permitting) is good enough to have a deep run at the East (they aren't getting past the Nets though) so may as well have a crack as it won't take many wins to jump from outside the playoffs to having home court in the first round.

@mariner4life That's the other thing which seems a little knee-jerk to me: the poor (albeit improving) state of the East. Only four teams have a winning record and of those the Knicks (18-17) are surely going to come back to Earth at some stage. So relative to the rest of their conference they're hardly stinking it up like the Pistons are. The play-offs are easily within reach, but their recent 3-7 run must have been the death-knell.

Book dropped a season-high 43 yesterday and tomorrow we have the Lakers on Sky at 4pm. The Lakers have always been a Suns rival although I don't know if Lakers fans care as much and to be fair these games weren't much chop for a few years post the SSOL Suns vs Kobe era. But tomorrow should be a fun watch.

They were excellent pickups but with Bogdanovic having not played one game, he was the key man. He would take pressure off Trae and give them 20 ppg as well.

On another topic, the Pelicans had a very good win against the Jazz. It was a bit of a shootout which probably suited NOP more, but the Pelicans held their nerve. The Ball / Zion / Ingram trio is really starting to click.
