Lamar looks stuffed
-
Dumb foul Tom

Weeks was playing good D on Sloan. Just needed to play it out and make them score, if not we get it back for one possession to win.
Tom needs a big 3 to make up for it.

Hate Adelaide.

We looked rusty to finish the 4th quarter and in OT. A bit of tiredness created by guys being in foul trouble.
Worst thing about this season is that we won’t get any home court calls....

Do we have a surrogate home court? Or are we constantly on the road?

Where are all our players? Bench seemed thin
We basically played 8 guys and then when Finn went down and foul trouble we were stuffed.
Given Lamar’s conditioning (or lack thereof), he probably played 5-6 minutes too long for the energy to close out the game.
First hit out and Tai played well although it must be said that many of his jumpers were short. He’s not quite like his brother in that regard. Corey’s mid range game is money. Tai getting to the basket was sweet.

Missed Delany down the stretch and obviously no C Webster yet, or the backup Aussie C/F Trist.
Patterson and Iverson have only just got out of quarantine, and the former doesn't look in game shape yet.
The Breakers should have won this game in regulation though.

Different year, same hometown calls for the Wildcats.

Melbourne United are an likeable club of fuckheads.
-
Haha wow. I thought on your home court it was the opposition who got fucked by the ref's?
This is a genuine stitch up
Benefits of the small stadium, being able to hear Chris Goulding say "we're getting away with murder out here"

Taipans season has come thick and fast to start off
Saturday night lost a great game to Sydney. Machado fouled out early in the 4th which ended our chance to win (last foul was total bullshit, the other 4 were dumb). Oliver played about as well as it is possible to play, worked his absolute ass off, top scored, blocked, rebounded, made ESPN's #1 play of the day by dunking brutally on 2 dudes.
Sydney have a fucking gun in Jarell Martin. Big lad with good feet and a dagger of a fadeaway jumper. Ware got hot in the 4th as he tends to do, and that was all she wrote.
Then we lost a close one to Melbourne. Machado's last second 3 rimmed out (would have been a miracle if it has gone in given the shot he took). We looked like getting blown out but hung in there right to the end. Melbourne are deep as a motherfucker. They don't even need Hopson and yet they still bought him. United have reliable shooters everywhere. fuckers.
Cairns are a bit fucked. I still rate our import duo over everyone elses. It's just that there is literally nothing behind them. Not one player is better than last year. Several are worse. We effectively replaced Newbill with Ngatai who fucking sucks. 3 of our starters can't defend. Outside of Machado there is not one shooter i trust. Our only other "big" behind Oliver is just too slow to play in this league now. I don't think the bench has scored in double figures yet this season.

@mariner4life Martin starting to find his legs. Didn’t arrive until late and then into quarantine. He’s got excellent touch for a big guy.
He was an excellent college player but left after his sophomore year which was disappointing (IMO) because it was the season before Simmons arrived and they could’ve done some damage together.
I remember him playing games for the Grizzlies and even being a starter. Lateral quickness was an issue defensively but he’s got great feet and hands that make him a threat on offence.
