Australia v India

Warne fluffing Wade made it all the more sweet
-
i am just astounded that Matthew Wade continues to be an ever present in an Australian test side. He is the sort of player we would have picked in the dark years, and stuck with for ages.
Can't score runs. Fields alright, but calls for dumb shit reviews. The weakest player in the XI
-
@mariner4life surely Wade's spot is under serious pressure now.

Bring back one of the Marsh boys 😉

Last Test of the season. He's got time to get back in

it's probably the only spot that's seriously open. Paine probably should be, but i am not sure there is anyone bashing down the door.

Wade is a fantastic player. He’s such a team man. Great enthusiasm.
He needs to be in the side just in case there’s a certain test match at Lords involving a team that wear black caps and green caps....

Yeah - that dismissal has taken his average below 30.
It's not often you can say this about an Oz player with genuine confidence, but he wouldn't make the Black Caps.
With Young, Mitchell and Conway in the wings, he wouldn't make the Black Caps even with several batsmen injured!

Go on! Say it again! That makes me feel all spesh inside!!!

What a wild session. How good is test cricket. At 4/149 with Smith and Green at the crease, and a lead of 180, I'd say you'd rather be Australia than India... but you'd have to think about it.
We need one partnership, just one. If Smith can stay there then a lead of at least 250 beckons, which will be a tough chase on a pitch that seems to have a little bit of life.
I've been so impressed with Green. He seems so poised. Not the complete package yet, but bats like a veteran.

All this talk of Wade......don’t forget Marcus Harris sucks arse as well but I suppose he might have time to get better.
he's only there because mini-badger is injured though.
-
@barbarian Yeah - Mark Waugh, I think, talking about 280 by the end of the next session or shortly after as being probably enough.
He's probably right, but I don't think Paine will be happy to set India 280 in 4 sessions with the series on the line.
I reckon the situation demands quite a lot of caution for the next hour or so. Get Smith early in the session and suddenly there's the prospect of India chasing something quite gettable.
-
@mariner4life I think it's a tad more specific - it's when Smith gets out. I can see Green going but Paine and the tail sticking with Smith and them putting on another 100 or so.

@Chris-B i reckon the timing of the next wicket determines the whole series (jesus i sound like Bruce McAvaney)
I going full Warnie - "there's more twists to come yet"!
-
@barbarian i can still see a scenario where Paine locks an end while Green hits out.
