Australia v India

Australia well on top here.
India mentally haven't turned up.
Maybe BUT:
- Conditions haven't helped. I haven't seen the whole day's play but there isn't as much assistance off the deck as Melbourne.
- Yadav not being there is also a factor
- The openers being openers helps. Not one guy with zero form and the other middle order batsmen who looks like he's on speed.
-
@KiwiMurph real circuit breaker for Australia - Pucovski cut him a couple of times to bring up 50 and Smith also drove him a bit.
Now Loose Bus Change is getting on board as well. Think the aggression factor has gone up a bit - wait out Bumrah and Ashwin and pick on the new guys.

@KiwiMurph also: new guy bowler might have a wicket but is also getting spanked and relieving pressure
Didn’t come on at a great time. Two set batsmen, not a lot on offer with the wicket.
He got Will with a very good ball though.

@Hooroo it was the continual comments from the press about "we/he has waited so long for this" that shit me. He's 22, in basically his first year of serious cricket.
He's not waited long at all.
was it lehmann who posted something like 10,000 FC runs without a callup? Now that's waiting!

Fully that!
I understand he has had Mental Illness issues in the past? To get through all that plus concussions etc and only be 22 and be under a bright spotlight and score 60-odd on debut is pretty impressive.

google tells me spot on!
Lehmann had the most FC runs before debut, before Hussey eclipsed it.
Both (and Voges show the experience of getting time in FC before stepping up. Bowlers seem to have fewer injuries if they work into the bowling too

Exactly. Boof was one of our most prolific run scorers in domestic cricket but started just as the golden eras were beginning. Hard to crack a spot.
Interesting fact: he scored the winning runs at CWC1999 and then took the winning catch in CWC2003, effectively having the last say in both tournaments.

This is not his first year of serious cricket. He's had multiple Sheffield Shield seasons. Aussies got excited about him back in the 2018/19 season when he averaged 54
That was when he was called up to the Aus squad but didn't make the XI
I agree that he hasn't waited too long. However he has been on the fringes for a while. Part of the press hype is because they can play up the drama angle - his head knocks & stress issues etc

@Duluth my bad. Two years.
It's actually his 4th Sheffield Shield season. But it's been 3 seasons of contributing.
I thought he was worth a look a couple of years ago. Particularly when you consider who he was competing with. However being on the fringes for a couple of years might be the best thing particularly given the mental health break.
