NBA Season - now 24/25

@raznomore leave my Knicks alone. Any corner is better than any previous year corner!

haven't seen much of this season. Moved house a week before Xmas and still waiting for the internet to be set up.
What I have seen is Trae Young is a great player. Wiggins is a bust for sure now. Curry is still the player that changed the game and people need to throw some respeck on his name - that is not a typo... The Pelicans are a fun team to watch but too young, probably. Zion is not a bust but might not be the next player to lead the game into the next phase. LaMelo Ball is NBA ready. I think he will be the rookie of the year. For once Westbrook is not the problem at his team. The Knicks haven't figured shit out and people need to just wait for them to implode instead of thinking they've turned some type of corner. Fultz is a very good player and Im happy he's found his feet.
Major quibble is what is Lamelo NBA ready for? To me he looks like the definition of good stats /bad team (based on an NBL season and 6 NBA games!), only his stats won't ever be that good given his poor shooting. Could he be late-career Jason Kidd one day? Maybe, I think that's best case scenario. Has to work on his shot though. Vision is excellent. Definitely the better player than Lonzo
Re Russ, why isn't he the problem? He is shooting 20 shots pg at 39% and 23% for 3pt. He also turns the ball over prolifically - he has an assist to turnover ration of about 2x compared to (say) CP3 (who i don't really like) at 4x. That ain't good.
Other thoughts, great to see Jaylen Brown kick on, I love that guy. Paul George sucks still. Fun to see Curry back, but regular season (see below).
Zion, I think he could still be great, think he's finding his way on a shit team.
And not sure I have mentioned this, but I hate the NBA regular season

Adams gets his first triple-double...and against the former team. Didn't come away with the win though.
Bradley Beal had 60 against Philly, but I think he'd be a little disappointed with that, not only because his team lost, but because he had 57 points at the end of the 3rd and only managed to score 3 points in the 4th. I thought he was about to end up with 70 or so points.

It was a bit of an ugly 4th quarter by the Wizards.
How bout dem Knicks 😎

@voodoo I don't think Melo is just a case of swelled numbers on a poor performing team. Im not really looking at him as a scorer but more as a facilitator. He's making vet plays on the regular.
Russ is not "the" problem. Just one of many at the Wizards.
@ACT-Crusader at least your team isn't OKC. Even when they win, like today, I can't get excited because they are earth-shatteringly boring.
-
@raznomore I watched the second half of the Thunder v Pelicans game and they played well and a bit more uptempo in the 3rd. Almost blew in the 4th though. SGA is frustrating because he’s obviously got talent but still prone to rookie errors.
Also I’m a bit of a LaMelo fan. Yes he’s got a funky shot and it never seems like it’s going (and for the most part it doesn’t), but love his vision and court awareness.
Lonzo has changed his shot mechanics so I reckon LaMelo might as well as he continues to get stronger.
-
@raznomore @ACT-Crusader I hope you guys are right about Lamelo, I like the kid. I just worry that he's having fun in a ludicrous regular season that more resembles an ASG right now, and I don't see a tight playoff game in his arsenal. But he's young, has plenty of time, and I'm probably harbouring preconceived ideas based on his bros, his dad, and his Aussie performances.

I for one hopes Steph Curry bosses this season. The shit that gets thrown his way by insecure LeBron stans like @voodoo is fucking ridiculous.

Oh bite me, when did I disparage Curry's game???
I LOVED Curry (and GSW) until he/they recruited KD, and I'm all-in again now.
That said, he's still a shit defender...😬
-
He can't defeeeeend
He's nothing without 2 other allll starrrrssss
This season will define his careeeeer
He's nothing more than a system player.
Curry changed the game, LeBron stans fucking hate that for some reason

The move Curry did on Pat Beverley today up the top of the key was niiiiice.
And a shout out to Ducks alumni and Celts rookie Payton Pritchard for hitting the game winner against the Heat today. He was such a heady college player but many thought he wouldn’t get drafted.

Shocking jinx by you @raznomore
Did his ACL today. Out for the season.

@ACT-Crusader Pritchard had 23 points vs the Raptors earlier this week. Early signs suggest he's going to be a better pro than many thought.
-
Playoff feel to the Nuggets and Mavs game today. Big plays down the stretch and the two stars making plays
-
@ACT-Crusader pretty happy with that result. I picked the mavs as a slight under dog and they came through and kept my multi alive.

The regular season results are all over the place so far. Who expected the Spurs to beat the Lakers away? And a KD and Kyrie-less Nets beat the 76ers.
I reckon it’s going to be all over the place for the whole season with more guys getting Covid and having to sit out games and then the protocols around testing etc.

Watching the Pelicans now and one thing I noticed is Adams is looking more athletic this year compared to the last couple.

Might have something to do with the way they use him too. No more standing around watching Russ run about

That was Steph-effortless....
