Henry's SR is slightly better than Santner's (92 vs 95), so in that respect he gets wickets faster. A few extra runs hopefully won't matter, although I must say Santner offers more in the rest of his game compared to taking wickets 3 balls faster.
-
@Rapido There was criticism of Mitch on here that he wasn't even keeping one end tight in that 2nd innings. I say this as a fan of his, but more in white ball cricket.
As to Henry, plenty of us questioned his selection when he was only going to be the 2nd change bowler. It would be interesting to see if his test figures as an opening bowler are that much better.

Santner usually bowls at bad times. (At home). 2 set batsmen in a partnership, throw it to the spinner while seamers are rested or until 2nd ball is due.
Henry gets new ball, sometimes first change. His real record is very poor.
Santner's record a smidge better than it looks on paper .
Santner IMO is about 30-40% better performer than Henry over similar lengthed career. If I'm generous. Santner performs his role, I dont recall Henry ever performing his role properly, maybe gap is bigger.

Ok. 2 fans of him arguing with each other then ...
Those bastard haterz have made me paranoid.

A bit, his worst position is 4th (second change) and his best is 1st position. Columns below are Average, Economy Rate, Strike Rate.
1st position: 37.28 3.30 67.7
2nd position: 43.90 2.66 98.7
3rd position: 57.00 3.89 87.7
4th position: 116.50 3.69 189.0 -

So the decision to bowl first....
...is really high risk. When you bowl first you need to knock them over for 200 or less or you are behind the game having to bat last. I'm not a fan but can see how teams get sucked into bowling given how green the pitches look.

That was an absolute sitter. Not good enough from a senior player.

Dreadful effort from someone occupying that position in the slips. Barely a warm up ball in catching practice.
-
Groan. That wont help Henry reduce his 4th position average of 116.
Small samples. But we basically have a 5 man seam attack with one guy averaging 116 and another 96 in their roles.
Wagner is irreplaceable.
CDG is appreciated , but IMO is still under appreciated
Santner is under appreciated. -

Interesting in the Aus India tests they were talking about the importance of weight balance fielding at slips and falling backwards is a sign of your weight not being correct. Rossco falls backwards there.
I think that goober was age, not technique. Seems like he drops a few these days

@No-Quarter 300 would be z6 really good score I think. It should be better batting tomorrow though, if we can run though the tail
