What a ripper of a ball there. That wasn't even all that short.
Height is underrated.
Can't teach tall
Reminds me of Joel Garner.

Crazy thing is these figures are the worst they could be. Jamieson wasnt the luckiest in that spell. Legend in the making

Henry will make Santner look economical, and take about as many wickets.
This only works if Santner is actually uneconomical .
But anyway. We are down to our 7th best seamer and 3rd best spinner. Our 7th best seamer has a way worse record than our 3rd best spinner, which is interesting.

Santner went for 2.67 runs per over in the Pakistan 2nd innings. Henry is currently leaking 5 runs per over.

Personally think the Henry selection was not a good one.
Was a big fan first few years of his career, but just hasn't cut it at test level, c'EST la vie. Going wicketless at home to Bangladesh shoukd have finished his test career.
I know where down to 7th choice, but I would have gone tall. Tickner or Duffy to debut, attempt to get some bounce.
This isnt green enough to get a 4 day result, which is what we need if we want to keep destiny in our own hands.
Bay Oval cut it too fine. This is just a bit naive.
Thought. Bay Oval was in theory almost a perfect test wicket. Does the WTC incentivise 'poorer' home pitches.

No shit.
Santner is economical. That's his role at home. Doesn't need Henry leaking to make him look economical in comparison. He is. -
Henry's SR is slightly better than Santner's (92 vs 95), so in that respect he gets wickets faster. A few extra runs hopefully won't matter, although I must say Santner offers more in the rest of his game compared to taking wickets 3 balls faster.
-
@Rapido There was criticism of Mitch on here that he wasn't even keeping one end tight in that 2nd innings. I say this as a fan of his, but more in white ball cricket.
As to Henry, plenty of us questioned his selection when he was only going to be the 2nd change bowler. It would be interesting to see if his test figures as an opening bowler are that much better.

Santner usually bowls at bad times. (At home). 2 set batsmen in a partnership, throw it to the spinner while seamers are rested or until 2nd ball is due.
Henry gets new ball, sometimes first change. His real record is very poor.
Santner's record a smidge better than it looks on paper .
Santner IMO is about 30-40% better performer than Henry over similar lengthed career. If I'm generous. Santner performs his role, I dont recall Henry ever performing his role properly, maybe gap is bigger.

Ok. 2 fans of him arguing with each other then ...
Those bastard haterz have made me paranoid.
