    Happy New Year all.

Hope 2021 is resoundingly better than it's predecessor.

Was joking with Jr last night that we'd wake up to the 32nd of December...

Happy New Year everyone. It doesn’t need to be flash, simply normal will do.

Agree, better than 2020 seems like a good start.

Yep. A very achievable goal, from swimming in poo just getting your head out of it is a good thing.

Civet cats and bats and are definitely off the menu for the New Year (2003 and 2019 but whatever) - that goes for for fucking everybody!

So Covid regulations actually contributed to a pretty good NYE for me.

Original plan was party at a mates place on their rooftop. That got cancelled when the restrictions dropped down to only 5 guests in a household.

So new plan was to have a pot luck in Victoria Park near Broadway. That got canned due to the constant rain yesterday afternoon.

So eventually we settled on Gadigal Green which is part of Sydney Uni, which had a covered area with seats, BBQ's and table tennis tables. So we parked up there, cooked the BBQ, played some table tennis and cards, chatted with the locals as they walked through the Green at regular intervals, got ignored by the security guards (we were drinking out of cups rather than bottles etc), and watched the fireworks on a phone while seeing them light up the city behind it. By about 1am we had dwindled down to 7 so could go back to the original house.

Probably one of my most enjoyable New Years ever.

Made it home. Three days travel. Jr didn't kill us on her L Plates.

Mrs Boo and I in agreement that home is pretty damn good. For want of a better description I'm going "resort adjacent ". No pool though. But balcony and view and loving where we live. Not "holiday"but pretty damn good.

    Currently 23.9 degrees (7:30 pm) and 83% humidity. (See below ... )

First time in two weeks I've not been desparate (I mean seriously desparate) to get the aircon on (near cracked the shits at Rocky last night ...).

I see Cairns is currently 26.3 deg and 93% humidity. Jeez, just going up and down to the rubbish/recycling and you're soaking in sweat. Packing the car was particularly uncomfortable .

    Cool holiday though.

@mariner4life Cairns is a fucking gorgeous place. Want to return and do the bits we missed. Which was far too many. Will email separately about some thoughts re Rainforestation/Kuranda. (Great experience - did love.)

Loved FNQ. Recommend to peeps who have access to go there.

Maybe not in Summer perhaps 🙂 .

    Didn't quite make it there.

Got as far north as Hartley's Croc farm.

The Capn Cook Highway north from Palm Cove was awesome.
